Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix (Joker) stars in this satirical black comedy that follows a rogue group of U.S. soldiers in West Germany. Set on an American Army base in 1989 as the Berlin Wall is about to fall, a bored soldier Ray Elwood (Phoenix) leads a black market operation trading goods and selling drugs. Everything is perfect under the incompetent leadership of his commander (Ed Harris, West World), until a new sergeant (Scott Glenn, The Bourne Legacy) arrives. As the sergeant's watchful eye cracks down on his operations, Elwood pulls out all the stops at revenge including dating the sergeant's daughter (Anna Paquin, True Blood)... leading him to spiral into a deadly mess that may not have a way out.
