Extend the reach between a rack PDU and high-current equipment fitted with a C20 or C22 inlet without re-cabling the whole rack. This heavy duty power cord extension pairs an IEC 60320 C20 plug with an IEC 60320 C21 connector - the high-temperature version of the C19, rated for a 155 C (311 F) pin temperature - so it plugs into any C19 outlet on a PDU, UPS or transfer switch and feeds any load with a C20 or C22 inlet. Compatible with any device using an IEC C20 or C22 inlet - blade servers, rack servers, storage arrays, core switches and rack UPS units - because the connector, current rating and temperature rating decide fit here, not the equipment brand. Built on 12 AWG three-conductor SJT cable rated 20 amp at 250 volt, with fully molded, strain-relieved ends that hold their grip through repeated re-racking. Best for: 20 amp 250 volt rack circuits in a data center or server room where a C19 outlet has to reach a C20 or C22 inlet. Not for: C13, C14 or C15 connectors, NEMA wall outlets, or any load drawing more than 20 amp.
A C19 outlet on the PDU and a C20 or C22 inlet on the server are the two ends this power extension cord was built to join. Drop it in when a factory cord lands two feet short, when equipment moves to another rack unit, or when you need slack for a service loop. It stays entirely inside the rack, so it never consumes a NEMA wall outlet, and it doubles as a power cord extender or a replacement for a worn C20 to C21 jumper power cord.
Three 12 AWG stranded copper conductors carry the full 20 amp rating at 250 volt without the voltage sag thinner gauge cordage develops under sustained load - a step up from the 14 AWG 15 amp cords supplied with most equipment. The SJT jacket is rated for indoor service and stays flexible enough to dress cleanly around rack rails and cable arms. Both connector shells are fully molded to the jacket - no field-terminated joint to loosen.
Quick check: C19 outlet on your PDU, UPS or transfer switch - Yes. C20 inlet on your server, storage array or switch - Yes. C22 high-temperature inlet - Yes, the C21 is rated for it. Device with a C13, C14 or C15 inlet - No, that is a different cordset. Load drawing more than 20 amp - No. NEMA wall outlet - No, there is no wall plug on either end. Need a standard C19 end instead of the high-temp C21? Use the 14 AWG C20 to C19 version.
The IEC C21 is the 155 C (311 F) pin-temperature version of the C19 connector, specified for high-density, high-heat equipment whose C22 inlet will not accept a standard C19 cord. Each end is overmolded onto the jacket with a tapered strain relief, and the C21 body is sized to seat fully without fighting the neighbouring outlet in a dense PDU strip. Black jacket and black shells keep the run visually quiet in a cable-managed rack.
Every production run is sample-tested for continuity, correct pin assignment and current rating before it ships. Lengths from 3 ft to 15 ft share the same 12 AWG construction, so a short jumper behaves exactly like a long one in the same rack. If a cord arrives defective or fails in normal use, Cable Leader handles the replacement directly - no manufacturer redirect and no third-party warranty desk.
