This NEMA L5-30P to L5-30R generator extension cord extends any 30 amp, 125 volt twist lock connection, with a locking 3-prong L5-30P plug on one end and a matching L5-30R connector on the other. It is built from 10 gauge (10 AWG) 3-conductor SJTW cable with an outdoor-rated, weather-resistant jacket and molded twist lock heads, and is rated 30A at 125V for loads up to 3,750 watts. Compatible with any portable generator, UPS, rack PDU or server rack equipment that uses a NEMA L5-30 locking outlet or plug, this 30 amp generator cord lets you run power to a 30 amp L5-30 inlet, park a generator farther from the house, or relocate a 120V UPS without changing plugs. Once turned, the plug and connector lock together so the cable will not pull loose from vibration or foot traffic, and the cordset is UL Listed and RoHS compliant. Best for: portable generators with an L5-30R outlet, 30 amp 125V power inlets, 3kVA UPS units and 120V rack PDUs. Not for: 4-prong L14-30 generator outlets, RV TT-30 pedestals, marine shore power, or connecting to a home without a transfer switch or interlock.

Extend a portable generator's L5-30R locking outlet, or a UPS or rack PDU with an L5-30P plug, without giving up the twist lock. Turn the L5-30P plug and L5-30R connector a quarter turn and they lock in place, so this 30A generator cord will not pull loose from vibration, foot traffic or a snagged cable. Rated 30A at 125V, up to 3,750 watts for heavy 120V loads.
Three 10 gauge conductors carry the full rating with low voltage drop, even as a 25 ft 30 amp extension cord. The SJTW jacket is rated for outdoor use and resists weather and abrasion, and the molded plug and connector heads add strain relief right where cords usually fail. UL Listed and RoHS compliant for peace of mind on a job site, at an outdoor event or in a server room.
Not for 4-prong L14-30 generator outlets, RV TT-30 pedestals or marine shore power inlets. Quick check: 3 curved slots that twist to lock, marked L5-30R or 30A 125V? Yes. 4 curved slots or 125/250V? No, that is L14-30. Straight-in RV plug with angled blades (TT-30)? No. Compatible with any generator, UPS, rack PDU or server rack equipment using a NEMA L5-30 connection.
Pick a 3 ft or 6 ft locking extension cord to bridge a UPS or rack PDU to a nearby L5-30R receptacle, 10 ft or 15 ft to reach a 30 amp power inlet, or 25 ft to keep a running portable generator well away from doors, windows and vents. Every length uses the same 10 AWG, 30A, 125V SJTW generator power cord construction, so you can mix lengths across a site.
Every production lot is sample-tested for electrical continuity before it ships. If a cord arrives damaged or fails in normal use, Cable Leader handles the replacement directly. Safety note: connect a generator to a home only through a listed transfer switch or interlock kit, never by backfeeding a wall outlet, and do not exceed your generator's L5-30R outlet rating.
