The interior dimensions of frame opening (22.8 X 12.3) are much larger than the microwave dimensions (21 3/4 X 13) . Can someone explain why it is so? I need this answered before I can make a buy decision on these two pieces - SKU 6338134 and this trim.

This is normal and helps with air flow, among other reasons.
