The Canon G3 X produces extremely sharp images from close up images to images of the moon using the 24-600mm lens. I was looking for a camera that was easy to travel with yet yielded sharp images. I love the fact that I do not have to change lenses or haul around 25 pounds of camera gear to obtain the same results as the G3 X produces. I would highly recommend this camera.

Pros: Good Image Quality; Large Clear LCD; Fast/accurate auto-focus; Good in Low Light; Nice Body Color; Good Image Stabilization; Great Zoom; Short Lag Time; Easy To Use Cons: No Viewfinder I purchased the G3-X as a personal use camera, however I found a viable use for it as a second back-up when out shooting in a professional environment. The file is super with color rendition and ease of use and the zoom is nothing short of extraordinary! I would highly recommend this camera for any level photographer.

If you are taking a trip where you plan to take lots of photos and you can only take ONE camera with you, this might be your best choice. It is fairly compact so you shouldn't mind carrying it on your shoulder all day. The 1 inch sensor is fairly good in low light, very good outdoors and the built in flash is sufficient for those ocassional indoor shots. The reach of the lens distinguishes this camera from its primary competition. It should handle every situation--from capturing the wildlife in Yellowstone to the line of scrimmage in your sons last high school football game. All this this in one compact package. Other cameras might best it in one area or another but few (if any) put everything together in one camera. Having said that, there are some cautionary words-- carry an extra battery if you plan to be shooting for an entire day and give serious thought to buying the optional viewfinder. Framing a shot in the bright sun is kind of a crapshoot. It's hard to see the screen in direct sunlight. The viewfinder works like a charm. Adds a little bulk to the camera but little weight. All- in- all a versatile camera that should be considered by every photo enthusiast.

I have a Canon 5D mark3 but wanted something that I could use when I needed to travel light. ie on my motorcycle or hiking. This camera fit the bill with it's 1" sensor and 20.2 megapixel and ability to take RAW it fits the bill perfectly. It's a little on the spendy side but for me it was worth it.

I like the portability of this camera and the quality of the pictures although it was a little heavier than I thought it would be. I had been using the camera for less than 1 week and the lens error came on and I could not get it to go off so fortunately I was within in my return window and returned it for a new one just hope it dos not happen again

Bought this camera for the low light capabilities and the electronic viewfinder (separate purchase). It is fantastic in low light. I absolutely love it. The electronic viewfinder is excellent for daytime shots when you can't see the display on the back of the camera. It has been difficult for me to use point and shoots for this reason (if there is a lot of sunshine I can't see the display.) That is totally resolved with the electronic viewfinder. I have used this up to an iso of 6400 and have been happy with the results using Photoshop and noise minimizing software. There is always noise at high iso's but using the noise minimizing software the shots look great. I have not been able to push a previous camera above an iso of 1600 before getting grainy results. This camera fits my needs and would definitely purchase again. It is larger than your normal point and shoot so be aware of that but if you want great low light shots it performs fantastically.

I picked up this camera to use as an alternative to my heavy DSLR when traveling. It is very light, but produces beautiful quality photos. The telephoto lens is amazing. It is also packed with features. I have been extremely happy with this camera.

It would have been better with better option for manual focusing

My only complaint is that I could not get the wifi connection to work with windows 10. Because the cable is not included with the camera, I had to order one from Canon before I knew if I could upload pictures to my computer. I love that this camera has a great zoom and can also do great close ups. I still have to check out a lot of it's features.

Wasn't the camera I wanted (I tried purchasing the Canon Mark II G7) but it is similar to what I wanted. I love this camera and would recommend to anyone! :)

Great feature filled point and shoot camera. Perfectly well rounded camera for the day to day family picture taking. Nice optics with a very nice zoom lens. Probably too much camera for the casual shooter who just wants to take "selfies".

This camera does everything you would need it to do for the price you pay, you just have to be willing to carry it around. It’s very worth it.

I returned this as soon as I opened the box. This camera is not light like other reviews were saying. It most likely takes good pictures but it was not for me

This camera delivers everything it promises - ease of use, compact size, excellent images. The once exception is that the additional electronic viewfinder (not supplied or available from BB) is essential to getting great images and video. Best Buy sales support and Geek Squad support is top notch.

This camera is okay, and you can get some good shots from it. I purchased one 15 months ago. Decided to purchase the viewfinder 2 to use with it from another company. The second I attached the viewfinder to my camera, it totally screwed everything up, including my zoom functionality (only goes to 50x now, not 100x and I can't take photos at 50x now), not taking photos 95% of the time, and more. I reached out to Canon who wants me to pay for them to replace my camera since they don't do repairs on this model. I absolutely cannot ever again recommend a Canon product.
