This camera has been long waited for and honestly has let me down alot. The audio on this camera was ok, so I used a small microphone on side and worked amazing. This issue I could overcome, what I cant get past is the horrible focus system. I know it doesn't have the dual pixel system like m50 but for the price the auto focus could have a better computer system for it. Vlogging with the camera for Our Micro Family we need a good camera, and this one did not work. I would be interested in canon releasing a firmware update to improve the camera but the other issue is adobe does not support cr3 the new raw file format from canon so i had raw files I could not edit either. Long story short, canon is amazing brand but did not deliver enough to impress this vlogger.

I used this camera for two days and it froze and would not turn off or on. I went to Best Buy to help solve the issue, but they would not do anything for me because I had had the camera for 18 days and their return or exchange policy is 15 days. Very frustrating to spend so much money on something that doesn’t even work properly. From now on only ordering from the manufacturer.

I LOVED this camera. It seriously felt amazing in my hand. The stabilization is great as well didn’t shake. I prefer it over the Sony Rx100 m7. The colors are great. The user interface is amazing all touch screen so responsive and easy to access. BUT. THE ONE THING. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING. it WILL NOT keep you in focus. It’s so bad and it’s painful that I had to give it up because I loved it so much. But the Sony RX100m7 is light years ahead. So I had to buy that instead. It’s a shame. They didn’t give it dual pixel auto focus so it’s pretty much useless. They make better cameras at a lower price it doesn’t even make sense. I use it for primarily vlogging, and 50% of the time out of focus and that’s unacceptable. Canon should, and can, do better.

Nice photos but when blown up to a viewing size, there's this line going vertically down the middle. Right down the middle. Gets bigger the more you blow it up. Viewed it on a 27 inch TV, line there but spread out. In star photo, on the 27 inch monitor, the line is like a straight cloud. From top to bottom. Bought it April 27th and return ended period ended June 11. I would have returned it 10 days ago, June 19, but since they said it was past the return date of June 11, I can't. Thought because I was an Elite Member I had more time. Wrong.

Overpriced I don’t know why Jumbo Buys has the price inflated! You cannot price match with products sold by Jumbo Buys despite Best Buy honoring price matches. I was very disappointed about that.

This camera sucks for taking pictures. The auto focus is boo boo. The videos are ok as I believe this camera is a go to for a lot ov vloggers. I kept it for a few days to mess with the settings to see if it would get better but nope. Returned it for the Sony ZV-1 and have had no issues with that one. Don't buy this one

Great camera quality but can’t run 4K video for very long you get about 3 minutes of run time before a 15 minute cool down to shoot again.

This camera would be the perfect vlogging camera, but it has a severely crippling flaw with the autofocus. Even with new firmware (v1.2.0) autofocus is still terrible! It checked all boxes for my uses, but the autofocus has completely ruined it. I will be returning it and going with either the G7 X Mark II or EOS M50. I would suggest you look at either of those instead of this one, depending on your needs. If this camera had DPAF it would be the perfect camera. With the autofocus on this camera is useless for video.

- The shutter release is too sensetive & I get far too many mis-fires that require deletion later on. - The location of the release for the flash on the left side requires the use of both hands to make one hand operation possible. - I much prefer my Nixon Cool Pix 900 & 1000 cameras. - I would return this if it was not past the 15 days retention period. This was a dream camera based on its specs but the autofocus is worse than the Mark 2. I’m bummed I can’t return it now so selling it on Craigslist and buying the Sony Rx100 VII. UNLESS Canon release a firmware update that fixes it. So frustrating that canon didn’t test this more before launch. How do they make a newer camera with worse autofocus than the last version? Seems strange.

Not a fan of this camera. I only wish I would've returned it before the return policy was up.

My friend and I have a podcast and recently started recording video. I went to the sawgrass Best Buy to purchase a good camera to do so. After it took 30 minutes for someone to come by to help us, i asked the employee if this was a good camera for filming a podcast. He seemed like he’d rather be anywhere but here, which I get but I was about to drop some money so at least act like you care, thanks. He responded by saying “for vlogging? Yes.” So feeling rushed I decided to purchase the camera. Worst decision. It stops recording after 23 minutes and has a battery life of about 40 minutes. Unfortunately none of the reviews I saw mentioned this. Don’t go to the sawgrass store if you’re expecting good customer service and don’t buy this camera if you need to film all day.

I really wanted to love this camera and for the $750 price point I had certain expectations from this camera that were simply not met. I tested this camera both before the firmware update and after the firmware update and it still has major focusing issues. I scoured the internet looking to see if it was just me, maybe I was doing something wrong. I came up with folks having very similar if not the same problems as me with the focusing. It does not focus on subjects in a timely manner not does it keep focus. This is crucial when taking videos. I recorded 3 separate Christmas events and was disappointed with all of them. I did simple in house testing outside testing and still had focus issues. I truly believe this camera would be wonderful if they could identify and fix the focusing issues but until they do that I can not confidently use the camera for video.

So I preordered a G7X Mark III after LOVING the G1X Mark III and G7X Mark II, due to the fact that it had an external mic input and uncropped 4K (the first of any Canon camera to as well I think). So the camera comes in, I pop in the battery and my SD card, go into video mode and turn on 4K at 30 fps to do a sample test in excellent lighting and the entire camera falls apart. There box is around my face making it seem like I'm in focus, but nope it's drifting everywhere and once it does lock on focus it loses the moment there's any slight movement. TLDR: On paper an excellent little compact camera at a great price compared to the RX100 VII, but the autofocus make it completely useless for video which is who this camera is targeted at.

I have owned many Canon cameras and currently have a G15 and an M50 plus 2 Canon camcorders. I was excited to purchase the new G7 Mark lll (although overpriced I thought) because it featured an external mic input. However, I discovered there is NO SHOE TO MOUNT AN EXTERNAL MIC! What are you supposed to do - hold the small G7 camera with one hand and a big RODE mic (or similar) with the other hand? This is an incredibly stupid design and negates one of the biggest advantages of the camera. I'll stick with my G15. With a shoe, a small Tascam stereo mic would fit on top of the camera and you could have gotten great sound with a very portable camera.
