A phenomenon of the very earliest days of disco, when producers of disco records would enlist the talents of symphony orchestras to provide the rich strings, brassy horns and penetrating tympani that were the trademark of some of the best disco productions - the disco orchestra was born. One of the finest examples on record is the Charlie Calello Orchestra's InchCalello SerenadeInch album, originally released in 1979. Calello, a seasoned producer, arranged and produced Odyssey's hit InchNative New Yorker.Inch Besides boasting the aforementioned talents of symphony orchestra players, InchCalello SerenadeInch also features session vocalists Luther Vandross and Cissy Houston, among others.
