One of my favorite Tim Burton movies and I love Johnny Depp's over the top performance and Danny Elfman's music.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp is a much darker adaptation than the original, but it's nonetheless more akin to the Raould Dahl's original story. Beautifully filmed and acted, there is much to be appreciated in this version. Take it home, make a big bowl of popcorn and enjoy.

Great movie Johnny Depp is fantastic in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (10th Anniversary Blu-ray 2005). I recommend for anybody to watch and buy this movie. This is a fun family movie for all ages. Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors period!

Tim Burton's stylized grim fairytale adaptation of Willy Wonka has exuberant kitsch sets and his usual piercing look at the underside of our suburban lives. I found my ride of the lottery for the golden tickets to the tour of the chocolate factory to be visually rewarding. Blu-ray disc, packaging, picture and sound quality good. Presented in 185:1 aspect ratio.

My son recommended this. It is a more updated version of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, and there are some things that are better. The music by the Oompa Loompas is still pretty weird...but all in all...a fun movie to watch. Johnny Depp is the perfect Willie Wonka. (But not sure he truly surpasses Gene Wilder)

Love this movie as always. The -1 one star is because the code that came with it was blotched and it didn't work so I was unable to connect it to Vudu to watch it online sadly. But other than that, the price was right and Mr. Depp was great as always

My youngest son read this book in school, and then at the end of the study they watched this movie. He immediately asked for his own copy, and he STILL watches it often. It is a bit darker than the original, in my opinion, but the story overall is quite strange if you ask me. I would not buy for very small kids, but elementary aged kids should be good with it.

I remember watching this movie at the theaters, when I was 8 years old. But, I still have this movie on dvd with widescreen version than full screen. Also, I wish they should’ve kept the additional scenes from Charlie and the chocolate factory from Netflix or special edition on 2 disc version. Yes, I enjoyed watching this remake movie and original movie as a kid.

Better than the first by far. Johnny Depp plays to the role well and gives it a unique spin that at times is quite comical. If you have a flavor for the bizarre twist that comes with a Tim Burton film, you will love this movie.
