So… I haven’t owned a desktop PC since the mid-2000’s. I recently decided that the RTX 5090 was worth getting this gaming desktop. And it’s good- albeit it threw me off a little bit with the AMD 9950x processor instead of an AMD 9950x3d. Part of me feels slighted in this regard— its *almost* the best of the best. And it is good— handling 4K 240hz gaming with ease… Only really dropping frames when handling resolutions above 4K (it does actually stay in the 230’s in near-8K in certain games, like Halo 2 Classic on MCC in ultra settings which is really a treat). And to be fair, benchmarks between the AMD 9950x vs 9950x3d show very little difference in performance— its almost the exact same card anyways. I have considered exchanging this for a model with a 9950x3d, however the price difference is about $700 which is not worth it (not even close— i could juat buy a 9950x3d on my own for that price and install it myself into this machine). But what I’ve alsk found is that the bottleneck for higher than 4K gaming becomes the RTX 5090 GPU anyways…. So maybe some day I’ll upgrade, but not today. This machine delivers insanely high performance for the cost. One other word of caution— the SSD is a Gen 3 and this ASRock motherboard is capable of 4-lane Gen 5 SSD’s — so I’m upgrading that to a 4TB Samsung 9100 5th Gen SSD and would highly recommend doing that for anyone who buys this PC. Of you have the money for this PC then spend another $350-$450 and add a Gen 5 SSD to perfect this machine. Oh yeah and I also cannot get Dolby Vision from this PC to my TV (which is apparenlty a common issue with Nvidia GPU’s, especially with LG OLED TVs). My 77” OLED TV is my second monitor across the room- it can only do regular HDR with this PC no matter how much EDID editing that I attempt to do to correct this discrepency. Oh and there was a random clamp just dangling aroune inside of the PC when it arrived. It was otherwise in good condition (nothing scuffed, dented, bent, etc), but this was still strange to find inside the PC. But, aside from a few minor gripes / bumps in the road— I would still highly recommend this pre build. This is truly next-Generation power at a reasonable price. I’ve never felt more immersion into gaming than playing games on this PC with my Samsung 57” Ultrawide monitor. I’m giving it 5/5 stars mainly for the good price — but I’m certain there are better 5090 builds out there if you really want to splurge… But you may even need to build one yourself at a certain point to exceed the performance on this machine. If you just want an RTX 5090 machine for a reasonable price and without the hassle of building a PC yourself then get this PC.
