Bought this to do our upstairs bedroom in our townhouse as it is very warm there in the summer. With the timer my wife sets it for 6 o'clock in the evening so the bedroom will be cool when we go to bed. So far the evaporation feature is working and we don't have to drain any thing. The bedroom is large including the bathroom. When I figured the square footage to gauge the size a/c unit, I went with the next size up. Once the room reaches 70 the unit will then cycle. I would suggest you do the same so as the compressor doesn't always run. On the low fan setting the fan noise is reasonable not being much noisier than a window unit which is not allowed in our development. On the out side nothing is heard from the street. The hardest part of the set up is getting the hose to snap together. I would say to get the hose on the window exhaust first. I didn't and it was harder to get everything together. Have had this for almost two months and my sweety is very happy with the unit. That's all that counts.
