A: No. You dont need a data plan. You can access a simple version if youtube and other data apps. Wifi is built in, so data not really necessary.
Q: Can you use this phone with current ATT wireless plan? How is picture quality?
A: I am not sure about AT&T. Best But carries an AT&T and a Cricket wireless version. I purchased the Cricket wireless phone for my father and added him to my cricket family plan for $25/month. Not sure about picture quality but being that it's still a flip phone I don't anticipate anything great.

A: It doesn't have wifi hotspot capability, but it does allow you to usb tether one device at a time to it and use the phone's data connection on that usb-connected device. Overall, this is a decent phone for the money.

A: It works just fine on at&t and tmobile after having it unlocked. didnt have a chance to try Verizon service yet, but i think it shall work. what you would want to do is check if its compatible with the bands it has before you waste your time unlocking it for Verizon or sprint.
