As someone who travels a lot for recording and editing footage, this is the best external storage device I have ever owned. Not only is it small, it's fast and holds a ton of storage. I've owned this SSD for 7 months now and have filled it to max capacity more than once. I work directly from the SSD with a lot of 4k footage and VFX and this thing hasn't bogged down my workflow even a little bit. Nice plus is that it works with both Mac and PC without any extra setup. The size and portability is perfect for even the tightest of work spaces. It's nice not to lug around a large form factor HDD anymore that takes up space I need when traveling. The rubber material on the bottom of the drive works surprisingly well at keeping the drive in place and this thing can take a beating. I can't count how many times I have dropped this SSD from my hands and it always survives with either no scratches or the slightest of blemishes. This is one of the few items I have bought where I have no bad things to say about it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid portable solution. This device is worth every single penny.

Small and convinient extra memory, portable and fast

Extremely small 4TB drive -- smaller than a credit card! Read and write speeds are fast. I used it for Time Machine on my Mac and it worked perfectly. The casing is made of metal and I didn't observe any overheating.

Worked as intended. Test unit connecting it to a USB Gen 2 port, drive was formatted as NTFS. See attached.

Is fast enough and works great. Works with my Linux, Mac, and Windows machines. The 4tb is a little expensive but well worth it for all of the extra storage.

Bought this to back up my files from HDD. Haven't gotten it to work yet because my computers are on the fritz.

Large storage capacity and decently fast read and write speeds for large file transfers. It’s also surprisingly small, it fits in the coin pocket of your jeans without the usb cable. I formatted in ExFat for use between macOS and Windows machines.

A great combination of capacity, speed, overall performance. These are also super for backing up modern phones, MUCH faster than any thumb drive, and no problem with the phone powering the drive via the USB C connection (plug the USB C included with the drive directly into the phone USB C socket).

First, 4TB in such a small package, smaller than expected, thin. There may be faster, but this is quite fast, does not get more than slightly warm under heavy work, and has expected volume. Details? Clean, feels well-made, does not show fingerprints, has lanyard hole. The admittedly short USB-C cord (7") is firm, substantial, and can easily suspend the drive in mid-air with minimal stress on connection. I'm sorry to hear that Micron is leaving direct to consumer memory business due to AI. Buy it while you can.
