This is a great appliance for quick and easy meals. It's easy to use and easy to clean up, I had one of these in college and loved it. Twenty years later I saw it and the price was right so I bought another. The only negative is the sandwich pockets aren't large enough and the filling spills out.

I was amazed with the performance of this sandwich maker and I really love using it. Simple to use and clean. Appropriate for small families needing to make few good sandwiches.. easier than using the Grill! :)

Butter four slices of bread, put bread onto the grill plates, put cheese in between the slices and close the lid. If feeling adventurous, add ham or tuna melt. When the light turns green, open and flip Sandwhiches into a plate. Every home with small picky eaters that eat grilled cheese Sandwhiches should have one of these. My 8 year old can make her own Sandwhiches (with supervision, of course) just needs to be reminded to turn it off.

I got this for $10, so I can't complain one bit in terms of what it is able to do. The only draw back in my books is the size of it; can be hard to close/properly fit sandwiches at times. Also, clean up is a little challenging, but that is to be expected. All in all, great purchase!

I am a busy parent who's kids are becoming more independent when it comes to there food preparation... I am more than happy to assist them in this endeavor... This product is great for the young independent child who insist on making their own snacks!!! Of course with any electrical appliance adult supervision is the only thing required and helping the kids become more independent is priceless !!!!!!!

Just bring it along with your sandwich fixings and be the envy of the whole office when you pull out a warm, melty grilled ham, swiss and pineapple sandwich out of this baby. The size of this sandwich maker is perfect for taking to work. I keep mine in the box to protect it during the trip to work. I use a larger size of bread that's healthier and I just put it in despite the fact that it reaches over the middle into the 2nd sandwich area. If you do this, which you probably will because regular small white bread is just filled with icky ingredients, you will have to press hard to close the lid. It is totally doable and the lines/sandwich dividers don't really matter because it is all going into the same place - your belly! Nom. Nom. Nom. Nom.

My 12 year old daughter is learning how to cook, in school and at home. She especially loves to make all kinds of grilled cheese sandwiches. With this product, she can independently create all kinds of delicious sandwiches! It works as described, and is regularly used by everyone in our family.

Non-removable griddles mean cheese and grease get into the gaps between the griddle and the plastic case, as well as pooling in the back, where the cable connects the top and bottom griddle. Cleanup is difficult and after a few months, it develops a bit of a smell as the uncleaned food sits and rots. Cleanup on the griddles is a snap because it is nonstick, but the plastic is significantly less nonstick. See attached picture for how much food gets inside the case after 9 months of light usage. Almost all of the cheese was stuck to the undersides of the griddle, between the plastic and metal and was nearly impossible to clean without removing the griddle. Also, it is difficult to capture, but the inside of the case is *coated* in grease--either from the butter used on the bread or grease from the melted cheese. Mine lasted about 9 months before the thermostat melted (literally, half of it was a melted pool of plastic and scorched metal). The lights would come on, but the griddles will not heat up. Best buy would not take it back and told me to contact the manufacturer, who wanted me to mail it back--on my dime--for a replacement. Shipping would have cost almost as much as the unit was worth, so I dismantled it and found the aforementioned thermostat. When it worked, it worked really well, but between the melted thermostat and the difficulty in cleaning make it a waste. But for $20, I really should not have expected anything more. This would be a great college appliance--throw it away at the end of the year and buy a new one the next year. Otherwise, I would not really recommend this to anyone else.

We had one of these growing up, which my mom still owns today. It lasts forever and makes a delicious, quick meal. When I moved after getting married, it was one of my first purchases for my new kitchen. You can make sandwiches out of all of your leftovers!
