A: Hello RTRR, Our free standing units require at least 5" of clearance on the back and 2" on each other side in order to prevent overheating, our units have an inner wall condenser so the majority of the heat created by the motor is dissipated through the skin on the sides.

The DAR044A5BSLDBO is rated for outdoor use however it is also a free-standing design and again it cannot be enclosed.
