A: Hello Michael, There is no documented clearance specification. However, I recommend leaving a couple of inches or more of clearance above the speaker for the Bass Radiator to properly breathe. Please note that a speaker will tend to sound a bit muffled if it's placed in a tight space. I recommend pulling the speaker slightly forward to help with this. Be careful not to place the speaker on the edge to avoid the risk of it falling. Any object above the speaker should be sturdy enough to handle bass vibration. DT

Great sound
These are very nice little speakers with great sound quality. For petite speakers, we think they have an excellent big speaker sound quality. We did purchase stands to put them on since we didn’t have room on our TV stand - those along with a center speaker gave our TV a surround sound theater quality. Very satisfied.

One speaker sounded by better than my Sony stereo
The guy in Magnolia played The Love Song by The Cure, Hotel California and Because covered by Elliot Smith. Let's just say after hearing that I walked out with a pair of these for my home theater. Watching Captain America The Winter Soldier with these bad boys on blew me away. I use these generally for movies and it's something I'll never regret buying.

Some of the best speakers
Great speakers to finish off my sound system! Work wonderfully as my back surround speakers. Crisp and clean sound and getting them open box from Best Buy was a great value.
