Q: Hi, I bought this laptop. I don't know how to activate windows 10 included. Thanks
A: Make sure all updates are installed first and then run the Windows Activation Troubleshooter under Settings->About. You will see text offering to troubleshoot. Took a slew of updates and three times troubleshooting before it stopped.
A: I'm running a 532D850 32" Samsung monitor through the Dell's miniDP port at 60Hz while running a HP 25" gaming monitor through the HDMI port of the Dell at 144Mz. The laptop screen is running from the Intel UHD 630 chip at 60Mz
Q: What is the display refresh rate?
A: It's 60Hz. It's probably the only negative of this rig. Dell does offer it with a 144Hz screen.
A: It would be fine, as a matter of fact, I just bought this exact computer for my daughter to run those exact Softwares, as she only had a Mac before. She loves it and another one of her classmates has purchased the same computer for the classes too! You'll love it.
Q: Does anyone know the upgradablility of this laptop, like battery, Ram, Graphic ETC...., Thanks
A: Hello! You can upgrade the memory to 32GB. You can also switch out the storage depending upon your needs. The graphics card and processor cannot be changed. You can contact the Geek Squad directly for additional information about switching out storage and/or battery.
A: It depends on what your fan setting is in Alienware Control Center. Mine was running pretty fast as well even when I wasn’t playing games. When I went into Alienware Control Center, it allowed me to make changes to the fan preference settings along with other features.
A: My computer is at 98% battery right now and is showing 5 hours 30 minutes of life. I just bought it about six weeks ago so I don’t have much time on it yet to know how long the battery lasts with daily usage. As with a lot of electronic devices, the battery may be affected by what kind of program is being used and how much power it draws. I.e. gaming, internet searching or word processing. I will say that so far it’s turning out to be a good choice. The laptop that it replaced is 8 years old so I’ve had to get used to Windows 10 and have spent a good deal of time transferring files from the old one to the new one. No negatives to report. Seems to be well made and is user friendly. You wouldn’t go wrong with the Dell G5 15.
A: Yes, it has enough ports, but you’ll need USB C and HDMI. Speakers are pretty good, audible and clear, but if you have a small sound bar, I’d use that. The camera is what you’d find on a latitude, so not a great one. It is top, not bottom located, so no shots of your nose or your hands typing. It’s good enough. If you were doing zoom panels or leading live events, I’d suggest getting a good camera. Just for some one on one and team talks, it’s fine.
