I've been testing the Devialet Gemini II earbuds for almost a week. Overall, they provide premium sound, a great equalizer, and standard noise cancellation, all in a great pocketable form. The Devialet Gemini II Earbuds check all the boxes for what I consider premium earbuds: * The case has a great form factor that doesn't snag when being placed in a pocket and keeps the pocket bulge to a minimum. * It has both wireless charging and USB-C charging. * The build quality is good, featuring a solid hinge and magnetically closing top. * The earbuds came with ear tips in four different sizes, ensuring I had the perfect fit for my ears. They easily passed the head-shake test. * There is an accompanying app that provides an equalizer with six presets and a custom preset. With the custom preset, I was able to tune the sound to my specific liking, a feature not found on most earbuds. * I can also customize the touch controls in the app, choosing what happens with single taps, double taps, and long presses on the buds. * There is noise canceling and a transparency feature. The noise canceling is slightly above standard, reducing most ambient noise without causing a white noise effect, although some sound bleed remains. However, the transparency mode is above average. It almost sounds like you aren't wearing earbuds. * It uses Bluetooth 5.2, which connects quickly and maintains a connection at 30 feet with four walls in the way before stuttering occurs. * The battery life is good. I easily got a full week of daily general use in my testing. * As for sound quality, the volume can get loud without distortion. The bass is top-notch, vocals are very clear, the sound separation is excellent, and small details that you wouldn't normally hear become audible. The only drawback I found is when I initially place the earbuds in my ear, I can't tell if they are inserted properly. They feel like they slightly slide out. It's only after doing a shake test that I realize they are in there securely. With all that said, These are great earbuds that meet my standards for premium sound and I would recommend them.

These super high-end earbuds deliver great sound and functionality, with the only downside being mediocre call quality. Sound fidelity is superb, with crisp high frequencies and rich bass, and excellent resolution (listening to Earth Wind & Fire's "September", it's very easy to hear the cowbell player clanking away in the right channel!). EQ can be set using the Devialet Gemini app, which can be handy if the music app you're using doesn't have its own EQ. Touch controls respond well, and can be customized using the app. The Smart Pause feature (which automatically pauses playback if you take an earbud out of your ear, then resumes playback once you reinsert it) works quickly and flawlessly, unlike others I've tried that have a significant delay before the pause or playback. Pairing is easy, and Multipoint Connection works perfectly (I tested this on my Pixel 7 Pro and Pixelbook). Bluetooth range is good to at least 50-60 ft, as long as no walls are in the way. The earbuds were comfortable, even after wearing them constantly for more than an hour. Build quality seems excellent -- they're plastic, but with a nice texture so that they're not slippery pebbles that will zip out of your hands when handling them. The case is a nice shape and size for slipping into a pocket -- not bulky, with no sharp edges. There's a snazzy polished chrome band around the case, but this picks up fingerprints like crazy, so you may end up polishing it nonstop. The case can be charged via USB-C or wirelessly. The one negative about these earbuds is call quality, which is decidedly mediocre. My voice on the other end (tested with someone else listening, as well as leaving a voicemail to myself) is somewhat crackly, with intermittent muffling. I've noted much better call quality on Pixel Buds and Poly Lens Freedom 60 buds. One could argue that people don't use cellphones for phone calls any more, but some of us do, and it can be very important for work, so for a $400+ pair of earbuds, I would expect better call quality.

I have owned a lot of earbuds and have been impressed with the improvements in battery life, ANC (active noise cancellation), sound, and call quality. I own 3 pairs of $350+ earbuds and was curious how well the Devialet Gemini II would compare. I was impressed with the Gemini II while listening to music – it sounded great on the highs, mids, and bass. The bass especially sounded amazingly balanced, unlike other competitors, which use the bass to overcompensate for other sounds. I was able to hear additional acoustics within music, which is normally absent with other earbuds. The app is simple and includes just the right number of features. The most unique feature is the ability to balance the sound between the left and right ear buds. Quiet environment ANC on – Call quality sounds good, but not great. My voice did not sound as clear as competitors. ANC off – Call quality sounds about the same as ANC on, but a little less muffled. Music ANC on/off– I was very happy with the sound. Gemini II has been successful at having consistent clarity at all wavelengths of sound. I was amazed that I could hear varied ambient sounds in the music, which I haven’t experienced with competitors’ earbuds. Noisy environment ANC on – Muffled voice – almost completely cuts out background noise. ANC off – Voice momentarily cuts out. Music ANC on – The quality of the music was about the same as with the quiet environment, which was pretty amazing. The ANC is top-notch; I could not hear anything but faint white noise between tracks. The ANC is the best of the many earbuds I have tried. These earbuds are for the music enthusiast who needs to block out almost all external sound, without a bulky over-the-ear headphone design. Due to the muffled voice with and without ANC on in a loud environment, however, I will be using a different pair of earbuds for phone calls and Zoom meetings.

These earbuds are insanely expensive. That being said, I use insanely good IEMs and even still, I got to experience some songs at Hi-Fi quality levels I wouldn't have thought possible. The sound quality here is incredible. Several things keep me from recommending these: 1. They don't have conversation awareness features like airpods 2. They don't have good connectivity for iPhone, Hi-Fi bluetooth protocols aren't supported 3. The Hi-Fi connectivity is good on Android, but the range is terrible and they'll sometimes cut out 4. These earbuds are on the bulkier side, so I couldn't fit them under my motorcycle helmet which is the reason I got them.

I keep going back and forth between this and the Pi8's. I like the bass response on this over the Pi8's, but I feel the Pi8's has a wider soundstage and you are able to hear better details. The instruments really shines through more on the Pi8's. The Gemini II's, like I mentioned, has a better bass response and a clean sound. But at $500, it's not enough to justify keeping these when I was able to purchase the Pi8's for $320. Plus, for some reason, the material on the silicone tips on the Gemini's are a little too slick and does not do a great job at gripping to my ears when inserted. Right when I insert it, the earbuds are being pushed out a little and I can really feel it if I am walking and have to adjust it all the time. I love that the case is small and it's capable of wireless charging, the price, not staying in my ear and soundstage is not enough for me to spend this kind of money for it. Plus my first pair, the right earbud was dead on arrival. I reached out to customer care and they were going to provide me with a letter to show Bestbuy to allow me to return it. Also, be careful when putting the earbuds. back in to the case. The magnetic force is not too strong. I also did encounter connection issues and music would drop while I'm using them. These connect to my music source pretty quickly, but still not as quick as the AirPods Pro's.

Great sound, best sound out of any earbud ive used, better than bose, B&O, Sony or Beats. However using them to work out is impossible, buds fall out no matter what ear-tip & intermitently one of thee buds will disconnect and have to place back in case and take out to reconnect.

The sound is incredible but wont stay in my ear. Have to keep pushing them. Ill have to look for foam ones maybe. I also have found that one of them will stop working. I have to put them in case and out again to reconnect. Maybe a defective unit?

These are the best sounding earbuds I've ever bought or tested at Best buy in all my years of working there. Firstly let me painstakingly list every quality earbuds excluding the trash ones that I tested and used at Best buy so you understand that when I say these are the best sounding they ever had the opportunity to sell I truly mean that. "Anker liberty Pro 3s, Sony MXW 4S, Sennheiser true wireless momentum 3s, Sennheiser true wireless momentum 4s, Technics EAH-AZ80 premium Hi-Fi true wireless earbuds, Denon PerL Pro true wireless earbuds, 1more triple driver earbuds. So now that that's out of the way let me tell you why despite me saying the ladder about how these are the best earbuds Best buy ever sold as far as sound quality goes they still only get four stars from me. The only reason I return these and the only reason well maybe two reasons I gave them only a four stars is because, the noise cancellation on these have a glaring issue. When they hear a loud sound suddenly like a sound boom or imagine a metal pipe falling down on the ground or I work in a warehouse so imagine a pallet just falling haphazardly on to the floor concrete floor loudly, the earbuds release a concussive pop noise like it was trying to cancel out the loud noise and then deactivate themselves. It is if these little things are like sheep that got spooked and then faint on the ground. And the only way to make them work again when either the left or right earbud decides that it quits life because it couldn't handle a loud noise you have to take it out your ear and then put it back in the case and then it works again. And as a warehouse worker who wears dirty gloves it is a nuisance to have to take my gloves off then take my earbud out of my ear and then put it back in the case and then put it back in my ear when it's probably going to happen and another 2 minutes or so. So that and the fact that they're so expensive and high quality from Best buy standard that Best buy doesn't offer a 2-year replacement warranty is it the reason why I returned them and the reason why I give it only four stars. But good news the company does offer and I mean the earbud company a two-year warranty so you just have to go through them. And also if unlike me you don't work in an environment that has extremely loud noises randomly happening that will perhaps deactivate your earbud you can definitely just still buy these if you want to listen to the best sounding earbuds that do have a really good noise cancelling if it's just like a even-tone loud noise background noise from a plane or a bus but like I said if you're on the bus or the plane and it has a lot of turbulence you just hear a sudden boom and bangs yeah your earbuds are going to quit life unless maybe they release a firmware update that fixes that then these will probably be the perfect best earbuds Best buy sells. I guess I'll briefly mention the sound because just saying they're the best sounding means nothing if you don't know what the best sound means to me at least. I consider myself a poor man's audiophile. So what I want and expect is clear meds evenly distributed base clear highs and a soundstage that you can hear all the instrument detail but at the same time feel the base in your ears like you can feel it not just boom boom more just like you can actually feel like yeah they produce the bass like you were actually in the room with the instrument or equipment that makes bass. They do that. On the subject of software the app runs smoothly and flawlessly at least from my testings on Android 14, with my Asus rog 7 phone. The EQ in the software I believe doesn't need any tunin,g neutral sounds really really good because these earbuds themselves are able to produce all the sounds in a comprehensive way that one would need but if you want to make it sound I guess a little bit better dynamic was the best eq tested as far as my hearing goes. But speaking of hearing please be careful warning warning to anyone who likes to play their music loud these are the loudest earbuds of ever tested as well because the sound drivers on these are 10.4mm ,so these earbuds are 40% louder than any earbud I've already tested that I previously listed so don't put these at max volume you will probably go deaf or have permanent hearing damage. I never went past 60 maybe 70% volume because of how loud they are. And that concludes my review.

I really wanted to review this 5 stars. I didn't because I returned the 2nd pair from the Total Tech membership because on the first one, the left earbud would beep out of no where and disconnect often. The 2nd pair, was working great. Best sound I've heard from these type of headphones and I've tried soooooo many. BUT, if it wasn't because I switched phones, I would not have known that the case no longer would work for pairing these to anything else. so the case because faulty. Too much money for having these silly issues. Best sound but need more quality control.

The sound is good but not great. For me it lacks the deep bass I like. For this much money I was hoping to get the Wow effect when I used them but I didn’t get it. I sent them back.

I really wanted a pair of high end noise canceling earbuds to use instead of my Airpod Pros, I love em, but I knew that there were better sounding earbuds out there. In addition, Airpods can only connect to one bluetooth device at a time; I wanted a pair that could connect to my iPhone and my work PC at the same time. These Devialet's fit that criteria and here is my review: I knew of the Devialet brand, they create gorgeous looking speakers thats sound even better, along with a high price to match. These headphones are definitely look great and also have the sound to match. I downloaded the Devialet app and paired these to my iPhone and PC in seconds. The app allows you to customize the EQ, something you can't do with Airpods. You can also customize the buttons, which was necessary for me as I had to disable the single tap option because the sensors on these are very sensitive. These sound amazing, I was blown away by the sound and heard parts of songs that I had never heard before. The bass was deep and the mid's and high's sounded just the way I like them. They are probably the best sounding headphones I've heard. The noise cancelling works perfectly and I appreciate the different options offered. I tested them at home with the TV volume pretty high and I enjoyed the silence. Looking forward to trying these on my next flight. My issue is with the bluetooth connection that isn't 100% stable. Taking out a single bud should not cause an issue but it does. Music stops and I have to go to the app to get them back working again. When using them for work, I prefer to keep just one bud in, but these were not built for that. The connection is really wonky when I do this, to the point that they are just unusable at work. I will definitely use them when traveling and to relax at home, but I am disappointed in the stability of the bluetooth, hopefully a software update will fix this in the future.

Probably the best ear buds for music under $500. Noise cancellation is average, not as good as Sony’s XM5 or Airpods pro 2. Bluetooth connectivity can be fuzzy. Good phone app but poor IT support on firmware updates. It’s surprising that voice calls are so sub par in quality. The audio quality is exceptional in music. Very clear, highs and lows are balanced, low latency, good sound stage and depth. It could be the best of class product if Devialet can fix the few cons with software updates. For now it stops short from being the best all around earbuds that at this price it ought to be.

I've used countless true wireless earbuds over the years from various companies and this one is the first I've tried in the $400+ range. This has a high bar to be considered great. Inside the box you get a USB type c cable to charge the case which is also wireless chargeable XS, small , medium and large earbud tips Manuals Case with the earbuds inside To set it up it's quite easy and typical in the Bluetooth settings. I have an Android phone and it states you can use Google fast pair but I don't see it. Not a big deal IMHO. They connect to the Devialet Gemini app (not the Devialet app) and you can upgrade the firmware , change the settings like button functions and the EQ of the buds. This is the reason why I gave these 4 stars though to be honest I would say 4.5 not 4 stars is because the buds there is no way to turn off the ANC/transparency mode. It's either transparency or ANC. I would just like to turn it off especially with earbuds that cost how much that they do. But as far as ANC goes it's actually quite good. Blocks most noise and I would say sits below the Sony's and the Bose but very close. Transparency is ok but to be honest Apple makes the best earbuds for that so if that's a must have the Airpod pros are the best in my opinion. As far as Sound Quality goes which is my priority over other features these sound amazing. You don't get the pounding bass but it's clear. The mids and highs as well.
