DJI as usual is killing the drone industry. The portability and quality of this piece of equipment is phenomenal. The intelligent flight modes and the layout of the accompanying app practically lets the drone fly itself. With a 20min flight time and a fantastic camera, you're sure to get the perfect shot that you've always been looking for! This more than capable flyer has plenty of range and with a little bit of reading from the included manual, anyone can fly it. Very highly recommended this one!

The DJI Mavic Air drone is extraordinary in many respects, from fold-ability which shrinks its storage size, to that of my Spark but with an additional 8G of inbuilt storage (handy if you forgot your SD card). It literally produces perfect pics and videos as far as I’m concerned using either 1080 p or it’s inbuilt 4K modes. It has a longer flying time than my DJI Sparks 16 mph compared to over 21 mph and is 2mph faster than the more expensive Mavic Pro. It also has cameras and sensors on the front, back and on the bottom to avoid accidental collisions while the Mavic Pro has no back up sensors. So backup collisions with the Air are a thing of the past. Theres so much more too. If you can wait and set aside extra money from other nonessentials this is the drone for you, beginners, professionals and the like.. I love my DJI Mavic Air. DJI makes the very best drones for a few hundred bucks to over many thousands. DJI is a top of the heap company in the Drone Universe, period!

I love this Mavric air. It’s so compact I can fit it in my suitcase when I travel. I’m a drone flyer and I usually take my typhoon h everywhere I go but sometimes it’s just to bulky. Thie Mavric air is very easy to fly and I think it be good for beginners. There’s a lot of technology in such a small drone. I’ve had know problems yet.

I love this drone, and it is well worth what I paid for it. I would say that it is not a toy or for kids, it is made for a bit more professional (even though it is my first drone) uses. The learning curve to learn how to fly it is not hard, it is a bit complicated to learn how to work that camera and change the settings while flying. Plan on it taking some time to get the hang of it. Overall, it is a great drone. I would say that it is not made for kids to play with.

This Drone is a great item to add to my leisure time. Not only can I use it for personal use but business as well. Recording in 4K with a reasonable file type make transferring video to any device. I only wish that the insurance price wasn’t so high. Otherwise it’s a Best Buy

This drone is pretty much everything I could ask for (in this price range). I’ve flown it 5 times at this point and have no real complaints. The speed is great, it’s responsive, it holds its position quite well in the air, and the video quality is pretty awesome. Being able to have control over the white balance, color, and of course the resolution/frame rates is a big step up from the Spark (I’m pretty sure these are adjustable on the Mavic Pro as well). I purchased a DJI Spark right before the announcement and was contemplating if I wanted to upgrade to the Air or a Mavic Pro. Once the battery fell out my Spark Mid-Flight I decided I needed that upgrade. I’ve never flown the Mavic Pro, but honestly the way it’s camera/gimbal hang there just seems to make me nervous, so I was happy to see the increased camera protection on the Air. I’m still very much a beginner pilot but I don’t feel like this drone is too much for me. Having said that, start slow with any drone. There’s plenty of time to work up to things like max speed and altitude. Unless you feel like buying your drone multiple times :)

I was going back and forth between The Mavic Air, and the Mavic Pro. Thankfully I ended up going with the Mavic Air. Having owned Dji Phantoms before, I must say, I don't think I'll ever go back! This drone has amazing reaction, Great speed, Awesome Distance, perhaps the best features are the video quality it produces along with the video modes! I'm just the average drone guy I'd say, bringing it hiking, to the ocean, etc, for fun. Maybe try to do something cool with it... This drone can produce professional quality photos for anyone. It's easy to fly as well. You kind of have to play with the app a second. Changing where the pics/videos are stored, etc (normal stuff). Love how you don't have to hook it up to a computer anymore to update. It automatically asks/let's you know when you turn your drone on along with the controller... Overall awesome experience. Would definitely recommend.

DJI continues to innovate. The reduction in size from the Mavic Pro while adding additional technology is huge ;). You can now travel with the Mavic Air without an additional bag or case for the drone, and the thumbsticks for the controller can be removed and stored inside it. I remember being shocked at the size of the Mavic Pro when it came out, skipped the Spark because of the lack of a decent camera, and now the Mavic Air continues this trend. The new APAS (Obstacle Avoidance) mode with rear facing camera's allows for more safety and control. The Camera gets a raised bitrate to 100mb/s which helps with 4k footage being compared to the Mavic Pro. The only cons, a smaller flight time with the size reduction, the battery is removed from the bottom which means you have to flip it over after turning on and the propeller arms have to be folded out to access the battery release buttons. This results in you touching the arms and propellers more than I would prefer. This is a trade off of the folding design- and the smaller non folding propellers are a positive trade off.

For my first drone, it has been amazing. Easy to setup, and very fun to fly. An extra battery isn’t really necessary, as after a few flights I was getting between 16 to 18 minutes of flight time. But I purchased an extract battery anyway. Takes excellent videos and pictures. And I love that the app keeps you up-to-date on no fly zones and and areas where you need to receive permission to fly. Excellent beginner drone!

Pros: -Video and image quality are spectacular. -very easy to fly, especially for beginners -compact, perfect for a mobile kit. Fits in my day pack, or airline personal item no problem. -adds professional look to your portfolio instantly. -great automatic features Cons -forced to use the wall charger, or buy an expensive mobile charger to get a charge in the field. You CANNOT charge the batteries in-body using USB-C. Absurd product decision. -Must have a perfect landing zone (not really a con, but there is not much ground clearance on this little thing). -Descent is slow -must buy extra batteries if in the field due to lack of usb-c power delivery (see above). In other words, power bricks won’t help ya. Regardless of cons, this is the best first drone, and worth the extra money for portability and image quality over the spark, and Mavic Pro first gen.

I was searching around for a couple weeks reviewing and reading the pros and cons for various drone manufacturers. I finally settled on this DJI MAVIC AIR. Small, lightweight, portable and much more. After a couple hours of flight time, I still agree that I made a good decision. The Mavic Air is a 2018 Release. There are not a ton of accessories available as of now but soon there will be. Only advice I can give is that I wish I had bought the Fly More Combo. You save a lot of money that way. Even though I purchased extra batteries and a case separately, I still love my drone.
