About This Item
Parts of Duke Ellington's long and industrious career have been badly served on CD. One area previously over looked are the vocal sides he made for Columbia between 1947 - 52 and 1957 - 62. Many of the recordings on this set have either not been reissued in the digital era or only ever been released before on rare collectors' vinyl sets. Featuring vocals from Ray Nance, Chester Crumpton, Woody Herman, Dolores Parker, Lloyd Oldham, Ozzie Bailey, Jimmy Grissom and many more. The set also features two demos sung by Ellington himself and a fabulous radio performance with Nat King Cole and Sarah Vaughan. Album Tracks 1. Women, Women, Women (Alt Take) 2.
