I bought these to replace the Cyber Acoustics model CA-3908 that had so much static, I couldn't stand to leave them on anymore. This speaker system has no static at all. I like the remote, however I think the mute button is backwards. The speaker is on when the button is pressed and muted or off when it's in the up position. The blue led light is on when the speakers are on. I like the sound quality and bass. It's great for what I need. The bass never sounds muddy, but then I don't turn them up too loud very often.

Giving this system's sound quality four stars may be misleading. The high/midrange satellites are very clear and bright. The subwoofer is powerful and has a decent range of separate volume control. The wired remote volume control and mute switch is very handy. I have tried several different setup positions. With the sub woofer on the floor a few inches from a wall, and the satellites in a normal position facing front and to either side of the desktop monitor, the balance was perhaps the most difficult to adjust. The satellites seemed too bright and the bass somewhat muddled. But a little adjustment made a distinct improvement. All three speakers are currently behind the monitor. The sub woofer is about ten inches from a wall, the satellites are behind the monitor (by chance, out of direct sight# and aimed at a 45 degree angle out from either side. Having the subwoofer on the desk allows easy access to the power switch. In this arrangement the bass only gets slightly muddled at maximum volume. Low to mid volume balance is excellent for both voice and music. I would recommend these speakers especially in this price range, and to people looking for very good and adjustable sound in spaces other than the normal flat back wall and subwoofer on the floor next to your feet setup. Also to those who don't have the space and don't want the additional clutter of a 5.1 system. #With the satellites located as far away to either side as possible and the sub woofer in the center, these speakers sounded like a fairly high end 'old fashion' two channel stereo system) As for the gloss finish on the satellites, I have found it very easy to keep clean using a hand "swiffer" every few days. I don't know why the specs say this system is battery powered. It is not. 4.9 stars.

It's a really beautiful piece of equipment. The sound design is nice. You get full range of sound spectrum w/out big speakers. Can be used for many applications and sound sources as well.
