My second set of Edifier speakers (the model just under this model is hooked up to my turntable): they just sound great and look so good. Plus they got nice connection options, integrated Bluetooth and a bass/treb adjustment to help fit the sound to the room. These are Bluetooth connected to my Epson projector and work flawlessly. (I’m still moving in) in the picture you can see no cables; just the power wire and the wire running between the two speakers. Really reduces cable clutter.

These powered Bluetooth speakers replaced an old compact Tivoli Audio system in my relatively small office at work. Pros: These produce deeper and more well-rounded sound than my old system. You can play from a phone, ipad or other device via Bluetooth or a wired connection. There are inputs on the back for two different left/right channel devices and a subwoofer output. I like a fairly full bass presence and am considering adding a lower-cost Polk Audio or Yamaha sub. You can adjust treble, bass and volume via knobs on the right hand side for simple EQ capability. It was very easy to connect devices via Bluetooth. The remote control works and is simple and easy to use. Cons: the cable connecting the speakers is fairly thick and has a proprietary plug - don't lose it! The sound quality is a little better via a wired connection than Bluetooth. Though sound quality is good for the price, some may complain about sound accuracy or the quality of the lower range. To understand the sound quality, I played a few Rush songs, Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell album, Jimi Hendrix Experience's Bold as Love album, some Chopin classical piano music, and Miles Davis' Kind of Blue - via an audio cable and Bluetooth. If you crave clarity, play via a wired connection. You'll notice the difference in sound accuracy vs. Bluetooth, which is not bad but a little less clear and and little more 'muddy. Also, play with the on-board or device-based EQ, which can make a real difference. Takeaways - for a small to medium-sized office, bedroom, dorm room or apartment living room, these are nice-sounding speakers for the price. Bluetooth is very easy to use; you'll appreciate somewhat more accurate music via a wired connection. Consider a subwoofer if you want a more well-rounded bass presence. If you're fine with a very good budget solution, they're great. If you want more accurate and robust sound quality, you can get that in other powered Bluetooth speakers...but be prepared to spend a fair bit more on something like Klipsch's slightly larger powered Bluetooth reference speakers.

Very happy with purchase. Got a turntable for first time and decided to go active speaker route. Didn't want high end expensive speakers. I believe you can spend less and sound almost as good for half price. From reviews of this this brand this is it. And it does sound great. Bass is pretty good but wouldn't mind getting the sub. Got this specific model for that option. Like the two lines, have them hooked to pc and i can switch between the 2. Also has Bluetooth but haven't used much yet. The speakers themselves are beautiful. I like the woodgrain and the vintage styling. Knob controls are nice. Overall satisfied with purchase.

Compare to them size it's not bad. I bought it for my bathroom as a background speaker for sleeping android relaxing. It has a great clear sound with a little base, just what I needed . Easy to use it because of the bluetooth. Compact.

Speakers look great, have wonderful remote feature, and sound solid. Biggest reason for the 3 stars is they lack a grounding feature for turntable connection (such as what you would want to reduce hum when using something like the Audio-Technica AT-LP120X). Without a ground these speakers are held back from being simply amazing to avoid having to use an amplifier. However, if these were being used for other audio connections I think they would be a great value per feature.

These Edifiers punches above their weight for their price. I had Klipsch The Fives but ended up returning those because they’re too bassy/boomy for my limited room setup. Obviously the Fives sounds better & can get louder than rhe r1700bts but considering the Klipsch is/was 3-4x more expensive then the Edifier are a good deal! Has a sub out if you need more bass. And the soundfield spatialization does make a difference when watching tv & movies, makes the soundstage wider but a little “thinner” for music i would suggest turning them off because it makes music sound unnatural.

Love the look of the speakers first but the performance and features are not to skimp on. Great use with the Bluetooth capability and love the controls of bass and treble. Adds that analog look that goes well with a record player. Gave it 4 stars as the price is a bit high. These shouldn’t cost over $200.

These are great sounding, powered bookshelf speakers - plus they have Bluetooth input capability. Currently, they're wired to our new Sony turntable, and they sound amazing for their size.

I bought these for my bedroom, because I love having clear and crisp audio when I watch TV or play video games. These speakers are perfect for the job, because I can have the volume down low and still hear lines of dialogue clearly, which is extremely important. I definitely love the equalizer customization as well, because it makes music sound even better as well. This was definitely money well spent.

I've had these for about a month now, they surround my ultrawide monitor nicely. I use them for playing videogames. The footsteps, explosions, and sounds they put out is excellent. I used to own a set of Logitech Z623 and these are a step up. I did buy a subwoofer be Edifier to pair with these. Together, its a great set.

Full disclosure, I bought this to plug into my turntable and listen to a group that has very deep primal drums but piercing female vocals. (Check out Heilung - Anoana for what I mean) My main issue with these lies is that the clarity of anything that is not bass. To add insult, these do not even get low enough in low ranges to give an audible difference of different types of low bass. At low volumes the bass overpowered all other sounds to the point I put the treble at max and the bass to the lowest. These speakers rattles my desk because there was not enough padding to combat the bass these put out. If I can best describe how voices sound to me with these, imagine you are hear someone talk to a guy on the phone through their car speakers as you are pumping your gas. I did research and found speakers around this price range typically go all in at "sounding bigger" by focusing on bass, which these speakers do great at. I ended up returning these and just going for some passive Klipsch speakers. I would only recommend these if you want an upgrade to some computer desk speakers given to you from an office, school, or computer speakers from 15 years ago but want bass instead of clarity.
