Q: Can you still print in black if color cartridges are empty?

A: Yes you can just change the print to black and white instead of just the default which is color.

Q: Can the drivers be downloaded from the internet? My laptop doesn't have a cd or dvd player.

Q: I need a small printer for my daughter's dorm room. Mostly just for printing papers and possibly a copy/scan or two. Any suggestions. Is the Epson Expression Home XP-340 Good

A: I've had the latest couple of models of this printer. I keep buying it because it is capable of great quality printing in either color or B&W and is nice and compact and is inexpensive. However, one issue I have had with each model is that the print heads easily become misaligned when moving the printer. Since I print infrequently and do not have a home office, I store the printer on a shelf in a closet when not in use. I have found that I have to be extremely gentle in moving the printer from place to place or print quality is poor. It seems the slightest bump when setting it down is too much for it. It usually takes just a few minutes to use the printer's tools to readjust the print heads, but it's something to consider. I do not know if this is common to this style and price point of other printers, so this could be common for small inkjet printers. Other than that, I quite like the Epson All-In-One or even the Small-In-One line. Great little printers for the money, IMO.

A: you got that right Lennie...the cost of Epson ijk is outragous...they don't make money on equipment...it is all ink for profit I find replacement cartridges to be as good or better than Epson...I use them...if the printer I use goes bad it is cheaper to buy a new printer than to buy Epson ink...what a racket...lots of good replacement inks in Epson original cartridges...try the you can't go wrong

Q: Is this printer compatible with Windows 7

A: Yes, this is compatible with Windows 7.

Q: I do not print often but like the convenience of the home printer when needed as well a scanning. Will the nozzles clog if not used often enough? Also will the ink cartridges dry out if not used often. I will mostly be printing b&w.

A: We don't print very often either. I mostly scan to my laptop or google drive. But when I do need to print ... this one hasn't failed me yet. It also has ink monitoring software to let you know if the cleaning routine needs to run or if you need more ink

Q: Is this printer comparable to use with a google chrome book ?

A: Yes. this is the reason I bought this printer.

Great printer for people that print a lot
The Epson XP-340 small-in-one is a great printer for small business and home use. I have been using the printer for 1 week now and my dad works 30 miles from here. I have the printer setup with google cloud printing and he prints to it all the time. The picture quality of the printer is amazing. It’s clear and comes out looking fantastic. The only downside is that it is a top loader so it sticks up with paper in it. The fact that you can replace each cartridge and not all of them is a cool feature. Pros: Unpacking and setting up the printer was a breeze and it works as intended. The packaging was nice and looked professional. The printer itself looks good and the design is attractive and nice. I like the fact that it has Epson connect, supports Google Cloud Printing, and it has a web UI if you go to its IP address on a browser. It had a SD card slot to use if you to print from things from a SD card. Cons: It is a top loaded printer which means you can’t push it flush up against a wall. This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Simple And Efficient
This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This is a great printer for its price I was expecting it to be a lot more. Basic, simple and easy to set up. It only took me about 10 minutes to set everything up. I've had other printers that are supposed to connect to my phone and print I found issues with connectivity and Driver issues on other printers. I have a Samsung Note 5 and I was able to Simply click print select my Epson printer and the job was done. I didn't have to install any drivers on my phone for it was just click and print. So far with I've been able to print out resumes Microsoft documents also Excel documents and other files so that I can see the quality of print and the speed of printing. I like that it came with photo paper so I was able to print some pictures from my phone the quality is good I just got to tweak out some settings to do a full page next time. I noticed that it's also very quiet when it's printing. I'm a contractor and need to print estimates for customers. I'm going to use this really cool printer in my work van. Good job Epson and making an affordable solid printer.

Excellent household printer for the price
This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. This is a fairly small/low profile printer. It comes tightly and securely packed in a box not much bigger than the printer itself - less wasted packaging is great. Included with the printer is the power cord, ink, documentation and a sample pack of various types of photo paper. You will need a USB cable which should only cost you a few dollars or setup via wifi. Setting up the printer was quick and easy. Remove the various protective tape/wrapping, plug in power (and USB if hard wiring) and power on. After power on, the on screen prompts tell you to load the ink cartridges and then wait about 4 minutes for it to charge the ink system. After the charging was complete I connected to my wifi. Navigating the menus to setup wifi was easy - once it scanned for available wifi networks, you select which network to connect to and enter in the password. There is no keypad and the display is not a touchscreen, you will have to scroll through to select the characters to enter the password. It's a little inconvenient though the ease of using a touchscreen or keypad would add to the cost of the printer. Once connected to wifi I was able to see the printer on my iPhone and computers. I did a test print from my iPhone and it printed the page quickly and the print quality was great. Default software on my windows 10 PC allowed me to print and scan as well but for additional functionality you can install the software from the provided CD or download from the epson website if you don't have a drive. Speed and quality of printing and scanning is very good. There is no automatic document feeder so no automatic multi page scanning or double sided printing - if you want those features you'll need a more expensive printer. I like the small size of the printer - you can place it almost anywhere and it would be inconspicuous - paper is loaded through the tray on the back of the unit which makes the printer more visible when loaded. A paper tray on the bottom would be nicer but would add size to the printer as well as cost. In general this a great printer for everyday home/school use. If you do a lot of printing/scanning you may want to look to at a more feature rich/higher price model. For the price this a great printer. The cost of ink later on will add up but you can always get the cheap non-branded ink, though the Epson doesn't recommend doing that.
