Say I plug in a Ipad to the back via the HDMI adapter. Then can I Bluetooth the audio to a speaker or do I have to wire the speaker via the AV port?
Answered by EpsonHi Bluetooth, Your iPad will send both audio and video to the projector if you connect it via HDMI. But, if you use a VGA adaptor to connect the projector, it will transfer video only. Then you can pair your iPad to a Bluetooth speaker for sound. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
How can this projector cost $2000 and not have audio?!? I’ve tried connecting it directly to a brand new top of the line Bose sound bar via hdmi and Bluetooth and NO sound. Had a professional video/audio team out to figure it out and they can’t get audio!
Answered by EpsonHi Jeff, The Home Cinema 4010 is designed for a typical home theater installation where video is sent to the projector and audio is sent to a sound system. The projector does not have internal speakers or an audio output port. If your setup is different, one option is to purchase an inexpensive HDMI audio extractor to split the sound from the HDMI signal and allow you to send the audio out via a cable. Considering getting this or the 5050UB. I am going to be using it for movie viewing in 4K HDR mostly, not for gaming. Would there be a big difference between this and the 4010UB?
Answered by DoctorFlickThe 5050UB has much better contrast/blacks. However, you must have a light controlled treated room to properly take advantage of the better black levels. If you don’t or can’t treat your room... in other words, if your room has white walls and ceilings, then get the 4010. If you do have darker walls and ceilings, then get the 5050UB because your room can take advantage of the better contrast and darker blacks. Aside from that, they’re virtually identical in color, lens, and features. The 5050 can do 4K60hz HDR, whereas the 4010 can only do 4K24hz HDR. That mostly applies to gaming.
