The stand's adjustable nature is highlighted by its 40-inch extension boom arm and two aluminum 3.0" grip heads, which allow for precise positioning of light modifiers, arms, scrims, flags, gobos, or smaller lights. The boom arm, with its 5/8" diameter, paired with the Grip/Gobo/KnuckleHead combination, can also function as a short boom, proving invaluable for intricate set designs and supporting a variety of objects from reflectors to small props. The stand's base is ingeniously designed with a 'Turtle Base' that offers an exceptionally low center of gravity, ensuring stability for off-axis gear without the risk of tipping - ideal when used with sandbags. The staggered, curved leg design not only allows for multiple C Stands to be nested closely but also enables the lower leg to slide under furniture and other objects for versatile placement. The kit's gobo rod arm seamlessly integrates into the grip heads, which feature cast aluminum construction with interlocking surfaces to maintain a fixed position. The grip heads are equipped with four different diameter channels (3/4", 5/8", 3/8", and 1/8") and can open up to 1-1/8" to accommodate a variety of rods and studs. The pivot disks are grooved to ensure a firm hold, enhancing the stand's adaptability. The Flashpoint 10' Century C Stand Kit is not just a tool but a legacy, tracing its origins back to the days of motion picture production when 'Century Stands' were pivotal in supporting large reflectors to harness sunlight on set. Today, this kit continues to be an indispensable asset in the arsenal of photographers and filmmakers, offering unparalleled support and versatility for creative lighting and staging in any studio environment.
