Franz - BLU-RAY

In early-20th-century Prague, Franz Kafka (Idan Weiss) chafed against the dreariness of his office job, the memories of an upbringing by a domineering father (Peter Kurth), and his personal dissatisfaction with the literary product he crafted as escape. Failing health ensured that he would never see the influence his prose would achieve. The short, troubled life of the existentialist author is tellingly limned in this passion project for director/co-scripter Agnieszka Holland. 127 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack Czech and German; Subtitles English; featurettes; theatrical trailers. In Czech and German with English subtitles.
