Frigidaire - 1,000 Sq. Ft. 18,000 BTU 230V Window Air Conditioner with 16,000 BTU Supplemental Heat Function - White

Hi sassy2, thank you for your question. For safety, we recommend following the installation instructions carefully and having a qualified professional install it. — Reed

Hello there, Bill! If by “-- plug” you mean the plug with two straight horizontal blades, and by “I-plug” you mean the one with a sideways/vertical-looking blade arrangement: This Frigidaire 18,000 BTU 230V model uses the straight-blade type and a NEMA 6-30P plug. So it is the “--” style, not the “I” style. It requires a 208/230V dedicated circuit and the matching receptacle. The Frigidaire installation instructions say not to use an adapter or extension cord. - Maico

Good day, D! According to the Frigidaire representative, the Frigidaire 230V 18,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with 16,000 BTU Supplemental Heat Function uses R-32 refrigerant. Answer: R-32 coolant (refrigerant). - Maico

Hi James! Thank you for reaching out. Yes, the Frigidaire FHWH184WB2 requires a different style outlet and a larger circuit breaker than standard US home outlets. It operates on 208/230V power (not 115V) and features a supplemental electric heater, requiring significantly more power than a typical window air conditioner. We hope this helps! - Patrick
