I looked at all the available portable speakers, and previewed my top 5 at Best Buy. By far this speaker is the best sounding for the money. It is has a very accurate response and and frequency spectrum. Want to reproduce stringed bass lines- no problem. Smooth bass response without the excessive punch and lack of accuracy of most models. The unit sounds great in a room and can be tuned by positioning. It also sounds great outside as well. An unexpected bonus was positioning the unit behind my head on the back of my chair. Almost like having a high end pair of headphones without having them cupped to your head. Battery life is around 24 hrs or so. I bought this to take on a trip to the Bahamas, and everyone was impressed!

I had to get 3 units before I found one that worked properly. Each one had something wrong with it. Had to go to 3 stores as most stores didnt have it. But bestbuy upgraded me to the tough model at no charge which was awesome! I finally got a good one and it's awesome! Sounds is phenomenal and the battery lasts forever! I put it on my hobie pro angler kayak and it does great with the water! Couldn't be happier. I also purchased the extended warranty from bestbuy.

The Fugoo Tough XL more than lived up to the hype of all the written and video reviews on YouTube. I am not an elite level audiophile, however clarity and separation are highly valued attributes I look for in any audio system, as well as deep rich thumping bass. This unit exceeded my expectations, and I could not be more satisfied with the sound quality achieved at this price point....completely blows away all the top contenders bar NONE, buy it! The straps were out of stock so I fashioned one out of old Oakley back pack straps, FYI.

The Fugoo Tough XL Bluetooth speaker is everything I was looking for in a quality speaker. Awesome sound and light enough to take anywhere.

Man bought this to run on the front of my Polaris Atv. researched all the speakers and found this one to be the best sound, water proof, and shock proof!!! And man it lived up to all that first trip out! Strapped to the front rack on the atv it held up to lots of vibrations, 3 Dunks in a mud pit full of water! Loud enough to hear over the atv at 2/3 power (so kinda loud). 6 hours playing full blast and end of the day 3/4 battery left! as the speaker spoke and told me LoL worth the cash !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I reviewed all the options at Best Buy and tested them in person before making this purchase. Initially I purchased the Bose mini based off reviews even though the volume didn't get that loud at the store. When I got home and hooked it up it just didn't have enough volume even for our kitchen and dining area. This was probably because we are used to the Bose sound dock portable which is much more powerful. At that point I knew we had to spend another $100 and step it up to the next leve. I debated between the Bose sound link and all other options in the same price range before I ended up with the Fugoo tough XL. The Bose sound link was the only one that was in the same sound quality level in my opinion but when you add in the battery life which has held true, the ruggedness to bring it anywhere and not worry about it getting ruined and the 360 sound, this one wins. I don't think the low bass is quite as deep but the kids and high are clear and low. There is still bass but again, compared to Bose this is where it fell a little short. If you use your speaker outdoors and/or travel with it go with this speaker. Just figure out which case you want (tough vs sport etc ). I wish it came with the remote but I purchased it separately for the fact it is water proof and has a bottle opener.

I had been waiting for the Fugoo XL's to go on sale because of my experience with the original bluetooth speakers. I am not disappointed. The XL's deliver everything they promise. No better sounding speakers on the market and they are tough as nails, a 35-hour battery, and waterproof. Highly recommended.

This speaker is very very rugged. I've used it in the shower so it is definitely waterproof. I like that using Siri with this is very easy. The sound coming out of the speaker is superb. I like that it has two levels, one for indoors and one for outdoors. The battery also holds power an incredibly long time. I highly recommend this speaker.

While this speaker is a little salty, price-wise, its definitely worth it. This thing is built like a tank - waterproof to like 3' and the same with the drop test. What really impresses me, is the sound quality - plenty of bass, mid's and highs, but it doesn't get overly loud to distort the amplifiers. And, even though is fairly big, it isn't cumbersome to haul around. I stood in Best Buy for a good hour listening to all of the Bluetooth speakers they had on display, and the first time I heard this one, I was blown away. There are others in the same price bracket that claim "good sound", but they didn't have the bass that this one does at low volumes - and that's what you really should be looking for. If you don't mind paying the price, this is one good speaker.

This speaker was a great speaker but wasn't for me. Loved that it was water proof and can take a hit if dropped. Bass was great and sound was good but volume wasn't loud enough for me. Because it has a 360 design with the speakers, sounds good inside but outside not so good and battery life was only about 4 hours on full volume when specs said that it had a 35 hour battery life at half volume.

I googled lots of products, got close and personal with Bose, JBL, and more testing them live, and looked at the websites of the short list - Bose, JBL, and Fugoo. Also, I am very picky and nothing turns me off more than poor quality in construction, operation, or sound. The Fugoo XL Tough is BY FAR the best device in these categories. I like it so much I am giving these as Christmas gifts to family members this year. I have used it for outdoor patio parties, hunting trip nights, and in the golf cart during casual rounds. Next up is in the boat fishing. With 35 hours of battery life, up to 5 blue-tooth devices attached at one time (toggling between which one is active), indoor and outdoor sound volume, and the quality of sound coming from 8 speakers that surround the device isnt' enough. You can take conference calls on this thing and mute the microphone during the call. Did I mention it is water proof. Not that blue-tooth works underwater but you can drop this in the pool and pull it out and it is still playing. I do recommend getting an optional strap for carrying this thing around. Not required but preferred. Also, get the XL not the smaller version because they are different products. The XL is the King!

I love this speaker it is one of the clearest and best tuned bluetooth speakers out there, and it plays for days on a charge. and is wind sand dirt and waterproof, and drop proof too. I owned the previous generation of fugoo speaker and it is still going strong after 3 years of constant play. If you want a speaker that compares to the bose and has more play time and better tuning you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I tried out the UE boom xl, bose sound link 3 but returned both not satisfied with the overall product and mainly the sound. The Fugoo xl tough is really the best sounding overall to me for the price range. For a blutooth portable waterproof speaker this was a great buy and I very satisfied with the speakers sound, portable and durable waterproof design, and style.

I shopped around online and looked at all the features and reviews of the various portable Bluetooth speakers. I then went to Best Buy and tried a few out in the store. I must admit that I was a little skeptical of the Fugoo unit as I had never heard of it before. Plus the fact it was the most expensive speaker out there. But I have always known you pay for what you get. If you want the best you must shell out the funds! I was not disappointed. This speaker flat out rocks. More than ample volume, tight bass. It is simply awesome! I used it at the beach to stream music from my smartphone. Sound quality was incredible, even playing it through a canvas handbag. I know its water proof and sandproof but I kept it in a bag and hung it under our umbrella. Flat out JAMS!!! Was able to listen to it for 2 full days on the beach before having to charge it. It has the longest lasting battery you can get in a portable speaker. Take the plunge and buy the Fugoo. You wont be disappointed. My only complaint, you have to buy the speaker carrying handle separately. I feel like for this price it should be included.

Very happy with this purchase! My son took it in the shower (i was told that it was waterproof) and it really is waterproof. The sound is great!! Had to upload the bluetooth connector, after that it worked great. Battery life is silly long.

The speaker is very rugged, it's been dropped and in wet and dust conditions and still works. Sound quality is good for a rugged speaker. And the battery life will get you through the day.

I was interested in this speaker so I did some research on it and decided to go ahead and buy it and see how it fit my needs. Ordered it from Best Buy and got it a couple days later. So I received it a few days later and I must say the packaging was nice and thought to my self it's bigger then I expected so it must really sound loud. Plugged it up and charged it up. Mind you I also bought the JBL extream the same time as these two speaker where always being mentioned on social media. Tested the speaker out for a few different songs and was not impressed with the performance. It was big for nothing. And I was not worth the money I paid for. I put it up to the JBL extream and the JBL blew it out the water by far and the level of volume was only 50% so I put them both to 100% volume and there was no doubt that the JBL extream won the challenge. Say need less to say I still have the JBL extream and the fugoo xl was returned to the store.

Was initially looking at JBL Bluetooth speakers but a Best Buy employee said you have to listen to this. I was sold on the spot! Deep bass and crisp treble this Fugoo speaker sounds great and not having to worry about the elements harming it makes it a no brainer. Worth every dollar, other features and accessories I haven't even mentioned

The fugoo speaker is one of the best in his category because of the natural and very deep base and also because of its obvious toughness . The waterproof ness is awesome when you like to listen to music in the shower. Also the volume is in a high level so that the sound quality never gets bad.

This portable speaker is very tough, good sound quality, and the all around sound is a great feature. At times when streaming music via 3rd party applications the sound is not loud enough to really jam out bit this can often be corrected.
