Ok when I watch films I do so on a 180" movie theater screen with full 7.1 surround sound and the Buttkicker transducer system. This is not to Bragg but to give an idea of the clarity that I rate both 4k and 1080p films. 1st off regardless if you are huge into 4k or still collect Blu-ray; I will add that with today's (Oppo) upscaling technology along with upscaling technology on theater projectors that the difference between Blu-ray & 4k is minimal. I will say that going over 180" that you will likely see a difference and recommend 4k for 150"+ screens. I found the film to be OK and 4 stars was given due to the advanced work that was done on the film for how old it is. The story is just OK and the film itself lacks a certain replayable ability. Its one of those film you might end up buying and never watching more than one time.... Personally I might watch it once ever 3-5 years. The picture was up to Blu-ray Quality, The sound was just OK. It lacked any score that would ever be remembered. All in all I like the film for what it is about (Garfield), but I'm just not a huge Garfield fan.. SO when I give it 4 stars its without bias towards my lack of interest in the comic strip to big screen fat orange lazy cat! Enjoy!

Our 4 yr old loves this movie; our oldest boy was about 4 when this movie first came out and he loved it just the same back in the day. It is good enough for adults to watch and be entertained as well. I believe Garfield is the only animated character, but it's done well enough you forget about it being an animated cat. I wouldn't buy this just for adults to watch (unless your a huge Garfield comics fan); however if you have a kid 8 and below, it's good entertainment.

The plot of the movie is a silly caper. Garfield is well ensconced as John's favorite companion until John meets a cute nurse at the vets office. In trying to work up courage to ask her out, she fobs a dog off on him, Odie. Well, it doesn't take Garfield long to get jealous of the new pet in John's life and he works to get rid him. There are some very funny scenes with Garfield knocking Odie around, trying to play tricks on him, and funniest of all, competing with each other dancing.

make a lasagna, he will come. like most, we're too prideful and put ourselves through too much defeat finding out we wasted all that time pushing awaythe friends we sorely needed that were that there all along

I thought Garfield the cartoon was irritating....then they come out with this half animated movie. My son loves it though and has watched it at least 25 times. I guess that's all I could ask.

I like watching some kid movies with my daughter but Garfield wasn't that great for the adults. She only watched it once but have it 4 stars. It was only $5 so can't complain too much.
This review is from Garfield: The Movie [DVD] [2004]

We bought this for family movie night and the kids (8 and 5) got lots of laughs. Could do without some of the slang language but overall a fun movie for a great price!

Kids love the movie but it is incredibly annoying. Lol my daughter is obsessed with Garfield so it’s okay but the movie still annoys me.

Garfield is great. Whether your 3 or 40. Great family movie. Bill Murray adds his great humor to this timeless classic.

I had high hopes for Garfield, but ended up being disappointed. However my nieces and nephews were laughing through out.
