Having a built in unit in my other car, love this unit. Sits very well just at an angle. Small but not so small I can't read or hear it. Easy to use, and learn. Bought a bean bag attachment, that way, comes of easy if needed. Both go together very well.

The new Garmin is a great improvement over the unit we bought 6 years ago. This one has lifetime maps - updates for old one cost almost same as a new unit. Wish this came with a padded case like our old unit did. Also with there was a clear way to transfer all our old travel destinations to this new unit. Garmin Express web site talked about it but has no instructions for how to do it. So we will have to manually enter all the locations again - kind of a bother that should be a built in pop-up that I could do at first turn on or decline now to decide maybe later.

We like the bigger screen and the ability to adjust the light level. The volume and voice are adjustable and clear. The touch screen is easy. The real time update and pictures of what the freeway signs actually look like is a big, big plus. They just pop up when they are needed at the popper exit. It gave us the faster or the shortest routes. Which ever we choose. It never lead us wrong once. Our biggest problem is there is no manual or instructions that come with it. It was frustrating to figure out how to go in and out of the different screens. Kept loosing information because of it and lost time trying to get the info back. Would still like to have a manual on it. Over all it is a good unit. I'm sure techie people wouldn't have a problem.

This is a GPS. It works like other GPS'. The nice thing is some of the extras it has. The first one we used was the different voice choices it gives you. We also had a chance to use the traffic adviser on a trip to Nashville. It worked flawlessly and gave us plenty of time to pick route options to get around construction. The split screen highway lane change view is probably the best I've seen, and I've used at least 8 or 9 different GPS models. It's very clear and again gives you plenty of time to make changes if needed. We have not had it long enough to update the maps yet. The only diss I have is that I wish the screen was bigger, but that is a me thing.

I bought this as a replacement for a competing brand 6" screen model that I loved until it went from the route to the programming screen, back to route/map and finally to the RSOD (Red Screen of Death). The screen went from guiding me to dark red, showed the whole country, and me, a blue dot. In long Island sound. I live in Mass. Brought it back to Best Buy where I bought it (one half month out of warranty so could not replace; not pleased but that's consumerism these days) and was told once the BSOD occurred, it would cost more to fix than to replace. I ended up with this Garmin as it seemed straightforward with the lifetime traffic and maps (which turned out to be a HUGE issue with the other one). Initially I was wary of losing an inch I won't say bigger isn't better, but had no issue readjusting to 5" as I was able to mount it closer to me than the other one. I'm a little confused as to the mounting system; you'll have to see it for yourself to understand, but basically you can leave the whole mount on the windshield, or remove the clip on the back of the unit so it's flat. I don't leave the unit in the car for extended periods, but the mounting options take a little getting used to. Wish products today came with at a basic owners manual, but at least this Garmin is easy. I had it set up and programmed before I left the BB parking lot. The standard female voice has a lot more intonations and personalization than other units I have heard, including the one that just broke. Overall, very pleased! I'm giving durability 5 stars as a guess; it seems well made and sturdy and have heard good things about the Garmin name. So far so good. Have only used it locally MA and RI, but am looking forward to a forthcoming trip to Maryland/DC to give it a true test. I am going to invest in a case for it now that I have figured out the flat disconnect combo. I travel extensively as a Special Needs and school and social advocate, and need to know where I'm going without worrying. So far it's been great.

This thing Rocks! it has life time free traffic and map updates. it tells you what lane you need to be in, and gives you the choice of fastest, shortest and will actually redirect you if there is traffic on the original route. it will alert you of accidents AND it will alert you that you're in a school zone during active school zone hours. it's very slim, the 5 inch screen is supper bright and easy to read/see, and the mount is simple and effective. this is a must buy, while being on sale for $200, you can't pass it up!

My aunt had one with a 5 inch screen. It was very easy to use,it 's very helpful to use on the road and in a strange town that you have never been before. So I'd gottn one and I am very pleased with this product and I recomend it to everyone.

Having used several Garmins prior to this one, it was quite easy to adjust to the minor presentation changes. I like the detailed voice announcements describing lane changes and turns. Much better than previous versions. I do not like the mounting system. It is awkward to mount the GPS to the window mount. Often times, the mounting piece on the GPS pops off when trying to remove it from the window mount.. Hard to describe, but a poor system in opinion. Overall, though, a very good GPS and a good upgrade for me.

Garmim gps is a great product for the money. The instructions were easy to follow and easy to install. I like the fact Garnin gives you lifetime traffic and map updates. The screen is a nice size and the unit is easy to program. The unit also has many features which you have options to use or not. I would have liked to use the suction cup on the dashboard but it only worked on the glass windshield.

This GPS is amazing. The screen is big and easy to see. The system itself is very user friendly. The live traffic feature is really amazing and it saved me a whole lot of headache when the highway up ahead was shut down. It automatically informed me that the highway was shut down, then routed me around the problem. Simply Amazing!!

We purchased before our trip to Boise, ID and it made finding places we wanted to go so easy to get there. It was fairly easy to input locations to find and search for restaurants etc was good. I like the lifetime update feature, so hopefully the maps will always to current. Display with directions and what is nearby while traveling was helpful.
