We’ve owned this product less than a year had problems with the door open. Item is broke cannot open the door makes a loud bangs and the biggest problem is trying to get it fixed every phone number you call talk to somebody else now they want me to bring it to the store. This compactor weighs just as much as the fridge. Very dissatisfied.

We have had the Kitchenaid in our last 3 story condo & love it so much we decided to purchase another-this time we went with the slicker looking GE. This one works just as well-yes it is noisy but saving time not having to take the trash out every 2-3 days is a great trade off!!

I really love this new trash compactor! The pedal only access is really convenient. It saves time and has a positive affect on the environment because I use less plastic trash bags.

Do not buy. It has a design flaw and makes it so that the opening mechanism breaks. See other reviews. Reached out to GE and they refused to do anything. It’s worthless now as it won’t open after less than 1 .5 years of regular use. Shame on Ge for selling this design flawed object and then not standing by there products. That’s after it arrived with a warped door that I had to get replaced by my appliance store rep.

Refrigerator works great, took several days to figure out ice machine but okay now. Came with a scratch and LG is supposed to send a touch up paint kit to me, but not received yet. It has tons more space than my old side by side. love the freezer at the bottom and the way its configured keeps everything in its place and makes it easy to find what I need

Looks good, very noisy when operating, controls are clumsy and compression is set to light.

First of all, so much easier going to the store and having an associate help to make sure it would fit into the space our old compactor was in. The wife loves it. Much quieter than our old one that lasted a lifetime and is working great. Also, the team that came to install it were very professional and clean. Not much else to say as it does what it's supposed to do. What I really like is the stainless steel does not keep water marks or fingerprints. No more wiping down with polish, just wipe away with a cloth and it's clean.

This trash compactor was bought at the Best Buy Outlet store. It was the exact measurements that we needed and fit into the space that we had. The dent was minimal (on bottom out of sight and the price reduction was incredible. We will continue to shop here first when in need of future appliances. This compactor is easy to open, especially when your hands are full. Our old compactor was 26 years old, so this new compactor is much quieter and more energy efficient. Our regular t13 gallon trash bags also fit this model which will reduce costs. Great buy!

This trash compactor is attractive to look at, has a very nice finish, is easy to use and we are happy with this purchase.

Bought this GE trash compactor thinking I was investing in a solid, stainless steel workhorse. And for the first few months? It was solid. Quiet, clean design, did exactly what it was supposed to do—compact trash without a fuss. But then, six months in, the compaction plate (or whatever you want to call the heavy chunk of metal that actually does the job) just fell off the threaded rods. No warning, no unusual use, no overstuffed bins—just one day it decided it was done doing its job and dropped like a dead weight. Now it’s just a very expensive stainless steel cabinet with a sad clunk when you open it. No excuses for something this basic failing so fast. GE usually does better, but this? Total letdown. Wouldn’t recommend unless you like surprises, and not the good kind.

I have to say when we went to replace our 12 yr old trash compactor we learned alot! They don't make many anymore cause the younger generation deals with trash differently (recycle, compost, etc). Ours have always come with our homes, and being older folk (late 70's) we really appreciate what they do for us. But with the help of Best Buy we were able to order just what we wanted to replace the old one. We do have a delivery problem, and can't expect delivery till first of next year. Meantime we're adjusting to the inconveniece just fine. Glad when it arrives.

I really like this compactor for many reasons among them is the ease with which it is opened. Hands free unlike the one we relaced it with. Lift and pull is no longer necessary to open and closing is just a easy. One switch for off and on to make it very simple to use. I would buy this again.

Very nice and sleek A little loud...Great Price

The size was perfect and the sleak exterior made this a top contender. Unfortunately, less than a year and a half the compactor “knocks” loudly when it is compacting. I would not recommend and would love to hear of a fix or possibly solution. I wanted to like it so bad.

Seems to be a good compactor but the first one delivered was broken and too BB over a week to get a fixed one. Seemed strange with no control panel but the foot lever does it all.

Trash compactor works great and looks great. It really needs a handle though because every fingerprint shows so I'm constantly cleaning it. I guess I will handle it myself.

So far, we've had great luck and performance from our GE Trash Compactor. We have modified how we throw trash out, because we don't want any of the "Wet" trash in the compactor. The effeciency of the compactor is truly amazing. Where we normally would have thrown out 3 large bags of un-compacted trash, we now only toss 1 small cube of trash... It's been a good experience. No issues at this point except for the easily dented stainless cover. We don't know if we did it or our installers. We are just going with it. The unit works well and the small dent is not too obvious.

This is not as good as the previous models. Bum is smaller and it doesn’t compact as well. Also this model is much louder. I’m not sure why they changed the design but they shouldn’t have!

Delivery and installation was painless. This trash compactor is user friendly and meets all our needs.
