This refrigerator was purchased to replace a 13-year-old Kenmore Elite that is no longer in production. This refrigerator had the closest options to our previous refrigerator such as: • An ice maker in the door • Ample shelf room • Adjustable shelves • A split shelf • Water filtration system. Unfortunately, newer appliances hardly ever live up to their older counterparts, as time goes on products are made cheaper. Biggest Complaint is the Noise This is the NOISEST refrigerator I have ever owned. It drives me CRAZY. When I first get up in the morning it is completely silent, however after you use the ice, water, and open it, it begins its daily ritual of a pulsating noise that goes up and down. Eventually, after a few hours, the noise settles into a more even hum that is still loud but easier to ignore. If you don't touch the refrigerator long enough the compressor will go quiet and for a small amount of time, it is blissful. Small Complaints but not a Deal Breaker • I wish the ice was small cubes instead of half-moons. • The lighting on the readable area of the dispenser for Water/Crushed/Cubed/Light is a joke for older eyes and at night. Instead of illuminating the words there is a small bar that hovers over the words that lights up. It would be more user-friendly if the words lit up as well for nighttime use. • The ice maker when dispensing ice is VERY loud, much louder than my previous refrigerator like it is grinding the ice (which it is not). • There could be just a little more flexibility with the shelving heights so that when storing 2-liter bottles you can do so without having to use the split shelf or cram the shelves close together. Just a little extra option to at the top would have solved this problem. • Water Filter – you are required to be the official WXFE filter (you cannot purchase the cheaper WXF filter). See the note at the end about the filter. No Complaints Here • Door Ice Maker - We like the ice maker on the door because it does not take up room in the refrigerator. However, just a note that the ice storage is small as it is with any indoor icemaker so if your family goes through a lot of ice you may want to opt for or use storage bins in your freezer or there are options where the ice maker is not in the door. • Ample Space – there is a lot of space in the refrigerator and while I do wish there was more flexibility with the shelving height overall there is a good amount of space to store your food. • Ample Side Space – The containers on the right side of the door are large and can fit a large number of items. Additionally, while the containers on the left door are small as expected due to the ice maker, they are perfect for sticks of butter, cheese, garlic cloves, and smaller items. • Freezer – while the freezer is a little smaller than our previous freezer it is still a nice size and has an option to separate items in both the top drawer and bottom drawer. This can help with keeping things a little more organized. • Climate Control – both bins have the option to choose the climate control for fruits or vegetables. The larger drawer can be set to cold or coldest (this is where we store our meat and cheeses) Note that while I was purchasing this refrigerator, there was an option to purchase the filter which I declined figuring I could purchase it somewhere else cheaper. That said the refrigerator actually came with a filter. Regarding the filter, you must buy the WXFE filter from GE as it is the only filter that will work. You can not buy the WXF cheaper version as it does not have the chip and is rendered useless. This is a clever way for GE to require that you purchase their more expensive filter. This statement is based on my research on this subject. Would I purchase this again? Probably not just because of the noise. I reached out to GE about the noise and their response was: Based on the information provided, newer refrigerators sound different from older refrigerators. They have more features and use newer technology. For your convenience, I have listed below some normal operating sounds and noises that your unit may produce or make: The new high-efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. A hum or click can be heard when the icemaker fills with water. This sound may be heard once or multiple times.

It’s a good fridge, nice space in the freezer. On the fridge, the space for the tall packets is kind of small, so there is a waste of space that cannot be used properly towards the back of the fridge. On the door that have the water dispenser, there are a few trays but you can place only really tiny containers. This refrigerator is not quiet, kind of make a lot of noise, specially in the middle of the night when the whole house is quiet.

I like how my GE washer and dryer have lasted more than 10 years, so when my fridge stopped working I decided to get a GE. Overall the fridge was fine, but unfortunately as many others here have commented, the water dispenser drips water well after being used, and water accumulates. GE sent a repairman out, he switched a part, but it kept doing the same thing. Also, water dispenser has a weird tube sticking out that makes it look very unprofessional. So I returned it after a couple of weeks.

We purchased this fridge as an open box, which had a few scuffs on one of the doors. We saw them in person and were fine with it. The fridge came with all the necessary parts and the manual. It’s definitely an upgrade from our previous model. We hooked up our purified water system to it, and the ice and water taste just as good as they do from the filter faucet. No issues with the water dispenser leaking or the fridge making noise so far

So spacious and works great. Sleek looking. Installing with best buy was an issue due to my waterline shut off valve not being directly behind my old fridge. But this new fridge is great

So far so good. I am waiting to get a water line connected, so I have not used the water or ice cube feature yet. I love the LED lights, it's so much easier to find things with a brighter interior. No fingerprints or smudging on the exterior either. Easy to wipe down as needed. The adjustable front top shelf helps get larger , tall bottles in the fridge area too. The bottom freezer has good space and it keeps things nicely chilled. I look forward to getting the water line connected next week & really using all the features it offers!

Very happy with our new fridge . It has a small ice bin, but seems to generate the ice quickly. Our previous fridge was an LG a the shelves fell apart and the ice maker constantly needed to be replaced. The GE seems quite solid and am hoping for years of use.

Outstanding refrigerator. So much space and I love the freezer on the bottom. It is a little noisier than expected when you get ice and water, but not terrible.

With only a minor ding on edge one of the doors we saved many 100’s on the open box price. The refrigerator was delivered and expertly installed by the Geek Squad. The refrigerator works perfectly and gives us the extra space the previous refrigerator did not have. I would highly recommend this GE refrigerator.

I just love my new fridge, there’s a lot of room in all the compartments and it keeps everything the perfect temperature lotta room in the freezer space also, I would recommend this to a friend
I purchased this refrigerator in an open-box "satisfactory" condition from Best Buy Outlet in Phoenix AZ. According to Best Buy open-box item classification, "a Satisfactory product does not include dents, chips, cracks or deep scratches". But I found more than 5 dents and 2 obvious scratches when I had it at home. Also, the item appears to be a used one, because I saw some plumber tape still wrapping around the fridge water line fitting. The item should have been classified as "fair" condition at best. I called the store numerous time, never reached any one; I called Best Buy customer support multiple times, requesting the store manager call me back to talk about the issue and possible return, no one called me back. It is not good experience for me. I hope other shoppers won't have to experience the same.

This is a very nice looking fridge, especially since it replaced a 17 year old white one. I like the wide, but shallow, meat and cheese drawer (what i use it for, anyway). I'm having a harder time fitting taller items like wine and other drinks because of clearance. I had to take a whole shelf out so that those things could stand up straight. Wondering if the ice dispenser is missing a guidance part due to ice going everywhere, unless you use a wide cup to catch it. I'm having to get used to the pull out fridge. Items keep falling behind it and I have to use tongs to grab them before closing. Maybe I have it too full. I do like that it tells you how much life is left in your water filter so you have warning to order another one.

Great fridge/freezer! Lots of usable space, well lit inside, runs quiet. Water area can be continuously lit up if you desire, just wish water/cube/crushed ice *choice words* were lit up so you don’t have to turn on kitchen light to see or change your choice.

I have had this for a month now and I am super happy. Everything works as expected and is super quiet. I would recommend this refrigerator for anyone looking to purchase one.

It is GREAT for the value! We bought it on sale + open box and got a steal! It keeps the fruits and veggies SUPER fresh in the crisper! So easy to see everything so nothing gets hidden and forgotten about/go bad

This was a replacement for a similar model in a brand I would not buy again. GE products seem to have better options when needing parts as the appliance ages. So far so good.

At first it was fine. Within 1 week it started making terrible noises. Now it sounds like something is about to break and spill machine oil on the floor. There is a green circle stuck on the front of the fridge, like it was a return and someone plugged it in for 10 minutes and said "She's OK". Do we blame GE, BestBuy, or both?

It shows adjustable tracks for the shelves, but i dont have those tracks! All of the shelves are at The same height, which makes it impossible for milks and bottles; they can only fit in the door. In the two pics, the first one is how it’s advertised, and you can see the multiple shelf height options.. the 2nd pic is the actual frig and you can see the ahelvea are NOT adjustable. This has to be against the law in the form of false representation and advertising!!
