Looks nice, but that's about it! At first, this cooktop looked great, but the problems started after about 90 days. Within 5 months, I’ve had two issues: 1. Hot surface light stuck on – The top right burner’s hot surface sensor is broken. The light stays on even when the burner is cool. The only workaround is placing an ice pack on it for 20 minutes until the light finally shuts off. Annoying, but manageable. 2. Burner stuck on high – The top left large burner recently started staying on high, no matter what setting I choose. This is a serious problem. I’m now waiting for GE to come out and service the cooktop. Overall, it looks good, but the reliability has been very disappointing.

I would give zero if that was a choice. This is an extremely unsafe appliance. Note that i always go out of my way to buy GE appliances so this was a huge disappointment one of the burners was not working from the beginning , i did not bother to call about it as i was busy . Only two of the burners are any use for cooking , the other three are only for warming . After 1 and half month of use (yes that's right , just 1.5months of use ) the two main burners stopped working. After three service appointments , the two burners worked, by evening one of it stopped working again and there was a smoke coming out . I called again , after two service appointments (3 weeks) the tech finally opened the appliances and the wire was burnt inside the sealed metal housing , it was in contact with the metal housing and completely burnt out. Note that this was not burnt , the first time it was opened and repaired. Is it a defective design? Why would it burn inside, same day after a service appointment? I repeatedly called and said it is a safety concern, but they don't care.

We bought this new electric cooktop on Nov 2024 from bestbuy.com. Its installation can only scheduled at Thanksgiving Eve. It was more unfortunate that the cooktop is a defect. One of four burners does not work. The technicians said we can use this defect electric cooktop and request a replacement on-line. We are not sure if it is safe to use a defect electric appliance, but we had no choice While waiting for a replacement. We also called Best Buy for scheduling replacement. The available date for re-installment is between 7am-7pm about a week later. We took a whole day off and waited for the technicians till 8:30 pm, there was no technician showed up even gave us a call for an update. Finally, we called Best Buy Rep and were told that no one would come as it was too late. We were asked to request an installation via online again next day. It was disappointing that a new cooktop needs 3 times of installment. The 3rd installation was scheduled more than 2 weeks later. During this period, two of four burners are completely out off work. What a disaster! We had many good experience with GE products as their quality and reliability are generally very good, thus we had purchased many GE appliances without any problems nor defects, even our previous GE cooktop worked well for almost 20 years. But this GE product does meet our expectation. It is so disappointing to have such a experience during holiday season.

The stovetop did not work for us. The front big burner got way to hot and on 2 it was a rapid boil, the back burner didn’t want to heat up at all. Showed way too many fingerprints. We returned back to stone.

I purchased this and two of the burners were still on when in the turned off position. Faulty equipment overall. I had to return it and I had new quartz countertops cut just to fit this stove. So im forced to buy another one. Needless to say im very worried about this product

Made it almost two months and one of the burners went out. Tried to contact GE and they are giving me the runaround. Complete waste of money. The top also scratches very easily.

We purchased this stovetop 2 years ago. We noticed that some of the burners are beginning to show hairline cracks in the glass when using higher temperatures. I heard some crackling underneath my cookware while heating a pot of soup. Finally a large popping sound was heard and a large crack appeared across most of the stove. It is unuseable and now a hazard. Best buy needs fo remove this product and hopefully assist its customers with this problem.

Stove installed improperly or there is something wrong with it. So far long waits on the phone. Hope we can get it resolved but so far very frustrating.

Cooktop died less than 2 years after installing (Dec. 15, 2025) (lots of sparks) while the cooktop wasn't being used.

Installed less than 90 days and it is throwing sparks when you turn it on! Seems like a safety and fire hazard. Don't recommend this product.

Totally disappointed. My stove top should have been here on dec 20th. Contacted Best Buy and promised some results within 48 hours which expired yesterday and still no news. Promises not kept
