This GE Profile model should be avoided at all cost. The lower spray arm is plastic, not metal. This leads to the potential for the lower spray arm to eventually contact the heating element thusly melting. This doesn’t completely render the dishwasher useless. But what it causes is the water to spray outward rather than upward. As a result, the owner learns that the seal for this dishwasher is not watertight, allowing water to leak out. Reasearch these issues and you’ll find out that this is a common issue with this dishwasher. So, why isn’t the seal watertight and the lower spray arm metal? Most likely, one can only assume, to save the company money. But not all is lost for those who are protected. For those who’ve invested in Best Buy’s Total Tech Membership, you’ll have a 2 years warranty on products like this dishwasher. Speaking personally, the Total Tech Membership has saved me thousands of dollars. And Best Buy’s Customer Service has always been amazingly helpful and wonderful to deal with. Total Tech is a must!

Looks great and has some great features, however could never recommend. Positives: 1. the wash jets under the utensil basket, cup holders (2nd rack), and knife rack in the 3rd rack are great. 2. The 1st and 2nd rack are very larger compared to the 5yr old Bosch we previously had. 3. It’s fairly quiet. Cons: 1. This is the biggest; it doesn’t always clean. Dishes go through a full cycle with steam, and pots and mixing bowls come out with food on them still. We scrape out the dishes before they go in, and usually spray them down. What is the point in having a dishwasher when you have to hand wash dishes coming out? I clean the filter weekly and run dishwasher cleaner through it every 3 weeks. We used cascade platinum tablets originally and then tried Finish Quantum, no change. This is the first dishwasher in over 30 years where I have dirty dishes coming out. And in most cases, the food remaining after the cycle can just be wiped out, it’s not like it’s even baked on! Absolute garbage. 2. Third rack is too small height wise to be useful for much of anything. 3. 2nd shelf is not removable and tines do not fold down on 1st or 2nd shelf. 4. Dishwasher is only a few months old and I noticed a small piece of plastic has chipped off on the top (not even sure how that could have happened, since that part sits under the counter unless the door is open! 5. This is a lesser gripe, but the utensil rack has a tendency of slipping out of its groove often. 6. The interior feels very flimsy and cheap, it doesn’t match the quality appearance of the exterior. I highly regret not buying the Kitchenaid 3-rack over this model; we chose this one over that solely for the free installation offer ($200+ value); we should have spent the additional money and bought the brand we trust.

- I initially purchased this dishwasher 4/2024, and it arrived with a major dent upon inspection. The item was repacked on the truck and returned. I was advised I would get a call from an 800 number to schedule a delivery of non-damaged merchandise. - Did not receive a call. Waited for the 'scheduling' button to be available on the website. After days of checking, the item showed cancelled. Logged into the chat to confirm what happened. After 45 minutes was told I had to go to the store location to order. Knowing this was because they cancelled the item and wouldn't reinstate, asked which store. Got a plethora of platitudes and no solid response. - Purchased at the store. Management was kind enough to comp delivery and haul away given experience. I noticed my card points were not reinstated, but figured I would use later on a Bravia TV as I was in the market and figured there was just a delay in reinstating. No big deal. Saved on services. - Second dishwasher arrived. Was confirmed dented. Again. I took a look and saw scratches and really flimsy drain line, decided GE Profile was probably not a great value. - Went back to the store to purchase a Bosch. Asked about reinstatement of points. Sales associate worked to get in touch with Member Rewards, but couldn't get anyone on the phone and order number we both validated kept erroring out on the automated call. - Called Rewards. This is where it all went downhill quickly. Associate explained first I used those reward points/dollars already. I did not. She admitted I did not, and began to explain since I opted for 18 month financing points did not apply. Reiterated multiple times before I could interject. Advised I'm aware of this, but I used previously earned points on the purchase and they were not refunded, was not expecting points/rewards dollars on the actual purchase. I also lost points earned post-junk dishwasher purchase. She said I used them already. Asked her on what. Could not confirm. She said I had $5 in rewards I could reinstate. Advised it was closer to $30-50. Went into each email after purchase and advised of amounts. She said I had to activate them. False. Once earned you don't have to activate. That's where they get you - send out rewards and if you don't use within 60 days they disappear (be wary of award denomination or they will disappear $5 at a time if not used). She argued. I read each email advising I did not need to act, but the reward dollars should be automatically available. She kept going on/off the call, got back on and said she can probably get points back in 7 days with no explanation. Obviously skeptical, asked for a manager. Was placed on hold 20 minutes and was told I would get a call back. As of now, no call back. If I don't get a call back today on this with points reinstated so I can still get my Bosch without paying for install, this situation is not going to end well. It's a matter of principal at this point.

Since it was installed, we are having drying issues. I've tried everything, and am waiting for a service call. It only cleans if on the "heavy" cycle, and all items are rinsed before placing in the dishwasher. The bottom is also difficult to load, since the rack is very widely spaced apart.

We would like to give you some information to help your unit's drying issues. We recommend making sure you are using high efficiency detergent in a tablet or packet form. Additionally, check that the inlet water temperature is at least 120°F. For additional information you can visit the article titled "Dishwasher - Not Draining" on the GE Appliances website.
We're confident our service team will provide a resolution, and we recommend continuing to work with them directly.
Regarding the bottom rack being difficult to load, we recommend following the loading tips in page 16 of the owner's manual here: https://files.bbystatic.com/EyXhAUFM0T08Afe2sCJ6zw%3D%3D/Manual

Never will buy from Best Buy again. They bombarded me with emails selling things, telling me what the delivery terms are they even called me about those things. Total harassment yet they never bothered the let me know the small window time of the delivery day as promised. After calling them a couple of times being on hold forever I was told they don't have the small window delivery time as promised. Seating home from 7 am to 7 pm waiting for the dishwasher hopefully to be delivered, I don't trust Best Buy anymore, never again.

This was installed and has never worked. I called after the 15 day window for the installers to come back out or replace the dishwasher, they came back out and said I needed to call GE. GE came out and said it's a best buy problem. Now they're scheduled to come out on Thursday. It has NEVER worked.

The Dishwasher was installed on Monday, loaded it up on Tuesday and it did not work. Had a repair guy come out from GE who said it was factory defective and needed to be swapped out

GE Cafe CDT828P2VS1 dishwasher. Purchased 6/2025. This replaced my old Cafe dishwasher. Its noticeably more flimsy than the last one. The only positive is that it is quiet. My biggest complaint is the drying function. GE, for some reason, has removed the drying, circulating fan on all their dishwashers. If you check on the specifications, under drying, it states that they use a fan assist. Totally misleading, Best Buy needs to fix this false information
