  • See who’s there, even when you're not. : A taller field of view and HDR let you see people clearly from head to toe, and packages on the ground. If you miss something, 3 hours of free event video history lets you go back and see what happened with the Google Home app.
  • Talk to who’s there, from anywhere.: Talk and listen to visitors through the built-in speaker and microphone. Tell someone you’ll be right there, or let a delivery person know where to leave the package.*

Q: i was wondering how do you hard wire this device?

A: The Nest Doorbell (battery) can replace most wired doorbells, you can connect it to your doorbell wires and hear your existing chime when someone rings the doorbell. But this will require an 8 to 24 VAC, 10-40 VA transformer. We'd recommend that you check the compatibility first to know if a wired installation would work. Q: Will the Nest doorbell work with the Kangaroo Chime device. I do not have a door bell

A: Hey there, Di. Thanks for your question. The Nest Doorbell is designed to work with existing doorbell systems or as a standalone device with its built-in chime. It may not be directly compatible with the Kangaroo Chime device, as it is primarily intended to work within the Nest ecosystem. If you do not have an existing doorbell system and wish to use the Kangaroo Chime, you may need to check whether it offers any integrations or compatibility with the Nest Doorbell. To know more about your device, we recommend contacting our dedicated team of specialists on the Google Help page here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Q: Do I need to put base a chime .. don't have a doorbell

A: Hey there, Di! The doorbell can run on battery alone, but if you prefer it wired, it can be connected to doorbell system wires delivering 8 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA, 50/60Hz, worldwide. Make sure that power is sufficient, as some doorbell systems are incompatible or can’t deliver enough power. Alternatively, you can connect a Google speaker or display and set up visitor announcements if you want to get notified when someone rings your doorbell when you’re home. You'll only get visitor announcements on your speakers and displays if they are set up in the same home as your doorbell in the Home app. Learn more using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451. Also, if you have Alexa, Google offers a Smart Home skill for integrating your Nest devices with Amazon's Alexa home control. Alexa can announce when someone presses the doorbell or when the doorbell detects motion or events. Visit the Google Nest Help Center to learn about how to control the Nest devices with Amazon Alexa: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9325080

Q: Is there a way to connect a power supply to the doorbell in order to keep it constantly powered and use the battery for a backup?

A: Hey there, PositiveVibe. Thanks for your interest. Yes, using a compatible wall outlet adapter can easily power your Nest Doorbell (battery). You might want to check for the Ninety7 Indoor Power Adapter, or S2dio Indoor Power Adapter, and we encourage you to contact your retailer for product inquiries. For other questions or concerns, you can contact us anytime at the Google Nest Help page, here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Q: I currently have a google nest (battery) through ADT. Can I purchase another google nest battery to use while the other is charging?

A: They would be classified as two different devices. But that is a possibility. Charging is fast and infrequent. Seems like a waste in my opinion.

Q: Is this doorbell camera compatible with my ADT system?

A: Google and ADT have partnered to provide Google Nest devices and services as a part of ADT systems which includes the Nest Doorbell (battery).
