Q: does it also work with the tab a 8"?
A: yes and very strong and good looking.yes it works with tab.8
Q: Can I remove the front clear Plastic from the case and just use edges and back?
A: I took the clear plastic off my Galaxy Note 4 otterbox defender case so I could use a tempered glass screen protector because the plastic one did not feel good to me. My guess is this case may have a silicon glue like the defender although I am not sure. If it can't be pilled off from the plastic outside ring you may be able to use a x-acto knife and cut it out. That way you can have the good feel of the glass screen or a glass screen protector if you use those.
A: no as the protector protects "everything" making using your tablet easy. You can take pics, also use the charger as there is a place to easily install the charger plus do "everything" you can do without it on!!
