This device worked well for me. The software it came with was pretty straightforward. You do have to run a scan on the first setup. It comes with an antenna but it wasn't strong enough in my case. I had to purchase a separate indoor antenna. Once I had both setup, everything worked really well. I was getting 720p. This would probably work best if you use it with another program like Windows Media Center (if you have windows 7) or Media Portal. Definitely a great tool for cord cutters

Used this to record a basketball game while we were away from home. The software was easy to use, the quality was good, and I couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend this product. BUT when we tested it out at home, living about 25 miles from major downtown, some stations did not come in and some had breaks. We attached a better antenna and got more stations and fewer glitchy movements. Of minor note (and this could be user error), when recording, my hour long show showed up as 40 minutes long. But it was all there, it just took 10 real minutes for the bar to progress 5-6 minutes.

This hardware records ATSC via an external antenna in high quality HD Video. This hardware also records QAM video from your cable company also in high definition, high quality. It wont record encrypted cable channels. NTSC analog video uses a software encoder that's not as good. ATSC and QAM video are recorded in a .TS format. This unit comes with Hauppauge own WINTV software that is very good and works with Windows. If you have an Apple computer you will have to purchase Eyetv from Elgato and the video is recorded in an .mpg format. For Windows computers you can also use Windows Media Center or download NPVR that is free and supported by independent developers. I have NPVR also installed and it works just as well. The unit comes with a tiny antenna but you will need to use a larger better quality external antenna if you want your video to come out. I have 3 of these tuners.

The device itself seems to work fine. Plugged it into my custom built computer running Windows 7 64 bit. However, the included antenna is terrible. I'm only about a 15 min drive from downtown Minneapolis (near Hwy 280) and only got about half of the local channels. I'm buying a different antenna to try and fix the issue. Additionally, software was a bit of a pain to get going, but it worked eventually.

Great pictures and easy to set up. Like the remote makes it easy to switch channels.

Purchased this product to record over the air TV broadcasts. The installation and setup were very easy. The product allows recording of programs either as you watch or via a schedule. Using the scheduled recording option was great. Play back quality was excellent.

I bought this product to be able to watch OTA broadcasts on my Xbox One since this version of the tuner is compatible with it (the 950q is not). It works perfectly! Just plug it in, the Xbox detects it and walks you through setting up your channel guide and then scans for channels.

This tv tuner is an upgrade to my older hauppauge that came with my older computer. It does its job. The only drawback is the menu guide for the channels. It is nothing compared to media center. Too bad media center is phased out. The unit itself works great, however.

I purchased this to record live TV with Windows Media Center and works just fine. My only complaint is the physical design of the product. When plugged into my micro PC, the TV card is lower than the bottom of the PC causing it to raise the front up a little bit. It comes with a short USB extender to overcome this issue, so all is well.

the tuner dongle works great and picks up all the channels well. I receive with a roof antenna, no cable. And this little tuner brought the over the air channels strongly. It also comes with a cable so you can record or watch a vcr or capture camcorder video with it. I use it all the time. Worth purchasing.

I haven't completed the project but, I've spent maybe half an hour. I did the minimum to install tvheadend. I connected to the device from my computer via wireless network and I was easily able top find and configure the tuner. I still need to tweak it and get it all set up, but at the minimum I believe it can perform on a Windows pc decently.

This TV tuner is easy to use and easy to install. I use it with my Windows 7 Pro desktop computer. Now, with Windows Media Center, I am able to watch and listen to TV programs using a small wall mounted antenna while I work at other tasks on my computer, I can also record programs for later watching. The reception is perfect and in HD, I am very satisfied with this product.

I bought this to tune TV on my computer on the road. I had one of the same brand for NTSC TV that worked fine for years so I bought the same brand to work with the new digital format. It works OK with supplied antenna for local transmissions but have not tried with a better antenna.

I bought this TV tuner card so I can cut my cable service. With Hulu Plus and this card, I can record air TV and watch many other shows for 1/12 the cost of cable.

Included software works well and can schedule recordings. Had problems getting it to work with Win7 Media Center.
