I bought this to keep our tent cool in the summer. It works great for that. Keeps it a nice sub 70 degrees even in 100 degree heat in the summer. It also cools my 2 car garage off nicely. It's not as powerful as a true portable air conditioner, but for one of this type, it works great. When it's extremely humid (75%+) it tends to blow a little water out, so just be mindful of that.

Honestly, I find I use it mostly as a fan. It is a REALLY good fan and pushes a lot of air. It's a decent swamp cooler. There are plenty of reviews that go into the details of how a swamp cooler works, so I won't add to that. It does the job and offers some relief to my studio apt. which is exactly what I was looking for. I conditionally recommend this unit for the following reason: I am fairly certain that it has spit some near-microscopic drops of oil through the air, as I have discovered multiple "mystery spots" in the pathway along where I have aimed it. They appear to be light lubricating oil stains (something I have experience with). If you use this, I recommend being very careful to not have clothing or carpet that you care about, in the direct line of the airflow.

Can't really say bad things about this product as the manufacturer themselves specifically warn consumers that this product does not work as an A/C. And it doesn't. But it works better than a simple fan. The air is cooler. You just need to add (a lot of) water. The only thing I didn't like about it is that you need to leave the door or window open. I have this air cooler, an A/C, and also a portable A/C at home. Air conditioners are the best, but you need a small window. The portable ones are good too, but you can't use them everywhere- like on a sliding door (you can, but you need to improvise). Air coolers do their job and are more affordable as well. Good for smaller rooms.

Bought this for my parents and they love it. Easy to use and water reservoir lasts a whole day. It's a swamp cooler, not an air conditioner. So if you want AC spend 3 times as much and get that. But if you want to knock off 6-10 degrees, this is quiet and easy to use.

It is a portable swamp cooler. So long as the humidity in the room is not too high you will have a cooling effect, otherwise it's just a fan.

I really like this product, it helps reduce the temperature of my space here in So. Calif. and makes it comfortable without being an "Air Conditioner" which can't be used with the window cracked for fresh-air. It does put extra moisture in the air, that's how it cools the air, I can't wait until the Santa Ana winds start because I'm sure I will be comfortable then too.

I'm very unhappy with this purchase definitely not recommend this to anybody I purchased this on sale For 175$ and I feel that I paid 140$ too much the only good things I can say about this product is that is made well easy to operate and light weight

My A/C went out and nobody would repair it for 5 days. This worked well and even better when I filled it with ice and really cold water.

I bought this as a Father's Day gift for my dad who loves to work on the cars and he has used it and says it definitely makes a difference on those very hot days

Although the fan does as expected, I don't see a major difference between the fan setting and the swamp cool function. Need to add water often but does cool you down if it is facing you.

The portable evaporative air cooler works great! Does not cool like an A/C but cools air better than a regular fan.

Fell over while trying to move it and the front panel broke off. Best Buy refused to assist with it stating it was my fault it fell over. The unit is top heavy without water in it.

There is nothing that takes the place of an air conditioner. This doesn't really blow that cool of air, you can put ice in it, but it really doesn't help. I decided to keep it and at least at night use it for the great fan on it. I'm gonna put yes on recommending this buts it's really a maybe.

Works great to cool my 1929 Florida home. We add an ice back to help cool the water and subsequently cool the room.

Works very well. Cools down the room without using much power. Probably not a replacement for a window unit, but does a nice job.

I needed something inexpensive and quickly, this was the best I could afford. It did the job it needed too. My AC went out in the middle of August, and this helped ease the pain of the heat while we waited for the AC to get fixed. It is a swamp cooler so it does not work like refrigerated air conditioners do, it only cools things down a couple degrees. But at night in front of an open window, it was like heaven when you had no air conditioner.

It works well in a small work area. But trying to cool a room or larger space isn't it's best suit.
