Q: does this vacuum push easy from area rugs to wood floors as well as carpet ?
A: This vacuum is excellent for carpets and area rugs because the brush roll never stops spinning. This vacuum does however have a brush roll shut-off feature which automatically turns off the brush roll when the vacuum is in the upright position.
