This printer is just fine. The print quality is good, but there are a few little issues that make it somewhat difficult to use. One, the printer often claims the paper size has been changed when in fact, no paper has been added or removed from the tray. Sometimes this causes one to press a button before printing a page - even when printing a document with multiple pages. (you can see how annoying this could be). Two, I'm not sure it's Instant Ink technology works. We've run out of ink twice without the system notifying HP to send new ink in time. (yes, we've been using the proprietary Instant Ink cartridges). So, it's not terrible, but not a breeze to use.

Basically we like this printer as there are few wide-fomat multi-function to choose from, i.e. Epson 7620WF and HP Office Jet Pro 9730e. The Epson materials are inferior and the printer is monster heavy. The HP on the other hand is a much more solid printer wnd weighs about 1/2 as much as the Epson. However, we are unable to shut the printer off without unplugging it. For this reason we give it only 3 stars.

This is a HUGE printer that is what I have wanted! The design is strange because if you use 11x17 paper a lot then the paper holder hangs out! I have a previous printer that uses the same ink BUT you have to go through customer service to get (old) ink to work! I am very disappointed in HP for all these mindless issues to use this printer!

Average printer. Works a bit slow. Scanning is also slow. The HP software "HP Smart" is flawed: some options do not work, and heavy use caused the software to stop working leaving the only option to "X" out and lose the un-saved work. Knowing the signs before the software stops, allows a work around to continue working. The printer works well enough for home use but I would not recommend it for small business. HP Support was also average - very scripted when they finally responded.

Gets the job done. I thought it would print a little faster than it does. It could be better especially for the price. Scanner could definitely be better.

Even though a Geek Squad agent set up the printer, it was very difficult and erratic. Still not sure how reliable this product will be. Also, I was advised not to use the insta ink since it makes a mess and may damage the printer

This is the largest all-in-one inkjet printer I have ever owned. I’d suppose it should be large because it can scan and print A3 paper size. It is built with a lot of plastic and the plastic seems thinner and more flexible than usual. It looks great however. It has a tiltable 4.3” touchscreen that I almost broke off because it was so tight and I used more force than was needed. However, the User Interface and responsiveness has been upgraded from other models I’ve owned. There’s a USB-A port in the front but no USB-C. It has a USB port for connecting directly to a computer via USB cable and it also has an ethernet port for wired network connection. It supports dual-band (2.4 and 5) wifi. 4 ink cartridges, 1 large black cartridge and 3 color cartridges (cyan, maroon & yellow) Scanning: It can do two-sided color scanning. Ok good but it only scans at a maximum resolution of 300dpi with the document feeder. Documents scanned using the document feeder skews fonts and images. Not all but some. Regular paper scanned fine but some thicker card stock seemed to get the skew effect. I do a lot of document scanning and I hope this can do the job that I need it to do. Documents scanned with the scanner glass has a maximum resolution of 1200 dpi but even at that resolution some thick borders or or solid shapes Printing: Solid colors were a bit faded or washed out. Blacks weren’t as black as they should be. This was using the best quality. The print quality is clear for all sizes of fonts but it also could be a lot better. Images turned out okay on regular paper as I didn’t have any photo paper to test it on. Not as good as a dedicated photo printer of course but then again, I’ve had other inkjet printer print better images on regular paper. I’ve had many HP printers and I think this one is the most disappointing of them all. The print and scan quality is just lacking for me. More: Long start and shutdown times Start (ready to print): Nearly 50 seconds Shutdown: 22 seconds It is slow to print when waking from sleep mode
