Experience 4K resolution with a wireless sharing PC monitor that’s built for both work and play.
Q: Hi - Is this wireless monitor compatible with a MacBook?
A: NOT compatible as a wireless Mac monitor. This is a Windows-only capability. However, I hard-wired it to a new MacBook Air M1 and I love the picture. Also, if you choose to use the monitor's built-in speakers, volume adjustment will me manual only, through the hard buttons on the monitor itself. I chose to use the MacBook's excellent speakers. The big takeaway is the 4K. Looks sooooooo good. Since you are on a Mac, you may be better served looking for another 4K UHD monitor without the FreeSync since you can't use that anyway. Looking on the BestBuy site I see there are other choices, some for less money, some for more, depending upon size and picture quality. Be sure your MacBook is capable of driving a 4K monitor to its full potential. If you can get one that is compatible, you will love the immersive experience of 4K from your MacBook.
Q: Is this a gaming monitor as well
A: No. Gaming monitors are low response and high refresh rate. 144Hz refresh is the minimum. This has only 60.
Q: How do you connect the VESA to the monitor? Instructions say nothing.
A: The included VESA bracket would replace the stand and provide 100mm standard VESA connection. Page 7 of the User Guide shows how to mout it: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06638344
Q: Is the screen surface glossy or no-glare matte?
A: It has an anti-glare matte finish.
Q: is this compatible with plugs on a Microsoft surface pro
A: Thank you for the question. The HP U27 is a wireless monitor, so you wouldn't have to worry about connecting to your Surface Pro if you opt for wireless connection. The monitor has the following inputs types for wired connectivity, one or more of which you probably have on your Surface Pro: 1 DisplayPort™ 1.2; 1 HDMI (with HDCP support); 3 USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
Q: What's the total height of this monitor in it's lowest position? In inches please. Thank you.
A: Hi Mick, thank you for the question. With the stand attached and at the lowest position, the monitor height is about 15".
Q: Does this monitor have a built-in microphone?
A: No it doesn't
A: Hi Jm, thank you for the question. The U27 is wireless in that you can connect to your PC without a cable, but you'll still need the electric connection for power.
