For ongoing performance, vacuum the filter when the clean filter light comes on; under typical household conditions, True HEPA life is approximately 12-18 months and carbon pre-filters should be replaced about every 3 months, with a yearly HEPA replacement commonly recommended. After cleaning or replacing the HEPA filter, reset the filter indicator by pressing and holding the CLEAN-RESET filter indicator button for several seconds until an audible chime sounds and the light turns off.
