I really just wanted a no frills unit to warm coffee and make some veggies. This is more then I need and surprised me with how quiet it is. Comes with a lot of nice features which I will probably never use, but nice they are there. The rotating glass is nice and covers the entire base. Another nice feature is if you leave the item you are warming up in the unit, it'll beep again after 1 minute. I've done it. :)

The Insignia 1.1 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave has worked well for everyday use so far. It’s simple, affordable, and does the basics without any issues. The 1000 watts of power heats food quickly, and the controls are straightforward. One real-life example was reheating leftovers after work. I warmed up a plate of pasta and vegetables using the dinner plate preset, and everything heated evenly in just a couple of minutes without cold spots. I’ve also used the popcorn button several times, and it actually works pretty well without burning most of the kernels. The size is a good balance — large enough for full dinner plates but still compact enough to fit comfortably on the countertop. The LED display is bright and easy to read, even at night. There are a few things that could be improved. The buttons feel slightly stiff, and the microwave is a bit noisier than higher-end models. It also doesn’t have sensor cooking, so sometimes you need to adjust the cooking time manually. Overall, this microwave is dependable for daily heating and defrosting tasks. It’s a good option if you want something functional and budget-friendly without extra complicated features.

There are several things that needs to happen for a microwave; heat up the food, heat it up well and uniformly, ability to control temperature, able to control timer. Those are the basics and this unit meets this easily. Then some features that make life convenient, the auto defrost, popcorn setting, reheat , +30 seconds, many of these are easily included in the onscreen display. What stood out to me are two things for this unit; the extra auto settings and there’s a little sticker to remind you of all the extra settings available to you. In a pinch you can put in the auto settings by referring to the sticker as you open the microwave. Maybe it’s just all the units I’ve used in the past, but this was helpful for a quick reference and the additional programmed setting was appreciated. The last thing to talk about that I’m sure stands out in everyone’s mind is the handle. The handle requires to be held in an upward position to open the handle, it is not the traditional pull to open. I thought why would anyone do this? In the best case scenario, I thought this would be useful if there’s a young toddler at home who’s pulling on handles, this would prevent the toddler from opening and dragging a microwave. But I thought that would only be ideal if the toddler wasn’t strong enough to pull the whole thing off the counter. Since my toddler doesn’t have this problem I can’t test it, but I think in theory this is a nice baby proofing feature that isn’t available in all microwaves so nice touch ! Kudos !

The size is nice, plenty of room inside, and it has plenty of power too. And the operation is easy enough. However this is the LOUDEST Microwave Oven I have ever heard. Thankfully it was emergency purchase, one we needed for a shot time, and then boxed it for use if our other microwave goes down. We had a nice Microwave/Air-Fryer combo oven that the door opening mechanism went bad. Thankfully we had a Geek Squad plan, but then had to send it out for repair/replacement, This was our choice to use while waiting for the other one to be returned. Woks OK, just a bit loud.

This is a very big, powerful, and quiet microwave. I love the handle feature as there is no more snatching of the door which always lead to the handle being broken. The LED clock, timer lights up the kitchen at night. Only one month in so hopefully it holds up.

Great little microwave! It’s easy to use and powerful. The handle design with the trigger button was easy to get used to and makes opening the microwave easy. I always have had a large microwave figuring I would get a better cooking level of meat and other items. Boy, was I wrong. This little microwave does a better job then all the other microwaves I have ever owned. Plus, fits under the cabinets and allows me space to place other items I'm going to cook on top of it. I love this unit. I cook 95% of all my meals with this microwave 7 days a week. Looking for a cheap unit that works like the most expensive units, this is the best there is. If I ever need another one, and I might get one for the garage, (man-cave) I'm buying this model.

I usually struggle to set the clock on other microwaves I've used but this is super easy, not endlessly pushing buttons. It's my everyday go to for defrosting, heating leftovers, cooking baked potatoes (including sweet potatoes), melting butter to make garlic butter or honey butter, softening brick hard brown sugar, and, of course, popping popcorn.
