Q: Do I need to take my switch dock apart and put it I here to make it work?
A: This is a complete dock and comes with all the cables you need to play with. No need to take anything off your original Nintendo switch dock.
Q: Does this dock allow you to have a case attached...like the Mumba rubberized case?
A: The dock is a very tight fit for the Switch on its own. There's definitely no way that it can fit the Switch while it has a case on it.
A: So I bought this because I wanted a spare dock that would work in tabletop mode and I could play while it was charging. It turns out that it works great as a spare dock to travel with, but it will NOT work in tabletop mode. Meaning that if you have it docked without the HDMI, it will still think you’re connect to an actual dock and the Switch screen will go dark. It’s unfortunate because THIS was the main reason I got it. Don’t believe the people that write on here that it works in tabletop mode because it doesn’t. TLDR: It basically works exactly the OEM dock, just cheaper in price. No tabletop mode compatible.
A: It only shows when the switch is docked. It didn't indicate charge level or if it's done or even if it's turned on unfortunately.
Q: Is it safe with the 7.0 update?
A: We updated our Switch last night to 7.0 and the Insignia dock and Switch still work.
Q: What's the rating of the power adapter? More specifically, voltage range and how many watts.
A: The rating is as follows Output 5v @ 1.5A and 15v @ 2.6A Wich is the same as the original Nintendo Switch Power Adapter.
Q: Does this device let the Nintendo switch breath from its back louvers??
A: Yes, it does.
Q: Has anyone had this for a month or so with frequent use? Any issues?
A: I have had this for about a month and I have had no issues at all with it. It works great for me and it looks better than the original dock.
