A: The base has an indicating light that changes from red to green and stops charging when the charge is complete.
Q: Does the controller fit on the stand with the paddles on?
A: Yes, no need to take the paddles off. It has an alignment tab for the port on the bottom of the controller and then rests on the charging prongs.

A: I realize this question is 4 months old, but maybe it'll help someone else. Shake the battery. Do you hear a rattle? If so, the contacts have come loose. That's what happened to mine. I bought two. One for me and one for my son. After two weeks, neither one works. I now have a nice $20 stand for my controller.

A: Yes, comes with a new backplate to replace the original one. The new cover has an opening for the charging connections. Very fast charging and great stand for the controller.

A: This product can be used to charge Xbox One/One S/One Elite controller.
Q: is it compatible with the Xbox One controller as well ?
A: The battery cover doesn't have the two alignment tabs next to the interlocking tab. These alignment tabs were interfering with past product on the Elite controller, so they were removed for this product. This stand will work with any Microsoft Xbox one controller.
A: I regularly charge mine overnight 6 ish hours, it's been mildly warm never hot, that sounds like a defect.
