Customers consistently note the excellent battery life and convenient charging capabilities of the Play + Charge Kit for Xbox Series X | S, highlighting its ease of use and compatibility with various controllers. Many appreciate the included cable's length and the kit's affordable price. The product's performance and snug fit are also frequently praised.
Aesthetically, I love that this matches my Series S! I can’t compare this to the Xbox Series S/X (USB C) play and change kit by Microsoft but I do have the Xbox One play and change kit (Micro USB). This one seems to be just as good. In fact the cable actually feels thicker and like it’s made of higher quality material. The Microsoft one felt thin and flimsy. The one thing missing on this one is the light that tells you if it’s charged or not but you can always check on the console itself. Unfortunately I haven’t had it long enough to tell how long the battery will last but so far I would definitely recommend this, specially for $10-15. I got it for $10 so it’s a 5/5 for the price alone.

I owned PS1 through PS4, but just bought my first Xbox. I didn't like the idea of having to consistently replace batteries in my controllers so I bought two of these for my Xbox Series X. I was a little worried because of other reviews saying the charge didn't last long..... I guess if you are used to having the charge of fresh AA batteries, you might be disappointed in the performance of these batteries. But coming from PS4, these hold a charge longer than any of my PS4 controllers ever did! I would typically get 4-5 hours of play out of my PS4 controllers. I have been getting about 7-8 hours of play with these batteries in Xbox Series controllers. The added benefit of being able to charge the battery without having to take it out of the controller was the main reason I chose this battery. If the controller gets low while playing, I just plug it into my phone's USB C charger that I have next to me and keep playing! There are 2 things I don't like about the batteries, which may not be their fault. 1.) there is no way of knowing when the battery is fully charged. 2.) the on screen battery icon you can summon while playing will show it has almost a full charge and typically won't show the degression until it tells you the battery is getting low. Overall, I am very pleased with these batteries. So much so, I just ordered another one for the third controller I picked up.

I’ve never owned a Xbox brand rechargeable battery pack, so can’t compare this to the “official” option. That said, I used to use an array of rechargeable AA batteries and this is a huge step up. No more fumbling around with batteries and having to keep various piles of batteries in a drawer. The pack lasts for a long time, no comparability issues with any of my controllers, and the charging cable is really long so I can keep playing if the pack dies mid game. I highly recommend this if you are still using AA batteries!
