When you need it
I recently had to replace an IGBT in a variable frequency AC drive. Now that RS is all but gone, and industrial electronics places are disappearing, I wasn’t sure where I was going to get my hands on heatsink compound locally. A shot in the dark turned up here. I got to play hero and save the drive from immediate replacement saving a company thousands of $$$$.

Unexpectedly Consistency
Most compounds I use have the consistency of a good quality tooth paste, and spread smoothly with a spatula. Insignia™ - brand thermal compound is a little soupier than I expected; it actually ran, and dripped off of the spatula. One CPU I supposed was clean enough to remove had some Insignia thermal compound residue around the outer edges that ran down onto the CPU slot's contact pins when it was tilted. What a mess, and a tedious task to resolve. Insignia™ thermal compound does work, but it can be unexpectedly soupy.

Computer Paste
This paste has been applied to my computers cpu and continuously keeps my temperature where it works best on the device.
