This tape archiver is an excellent purchase for anyone wanting to save old tapes to a cd/dvd format. It's easy to use and simple to convert the stored files to usable cd/dvd information. The product can also be used with other audio processing programs to repair and correct damaged or noisy source tapes on cd.

For starters, I had to go to the website and download the driver. Then I had to download iTunes. I couldn't use the disk that came in the package. Lastly, I needed speakers.

While it is designed to work with Windows, I found it more difficult than it needs to be. I found it worked best in Linux. Ion does not advertise that. The software needed to use in Linux Mint is free and easy to use.

Nice tool to save old one-of-a- kind recordings from being lost or tossed along with the cassette machine. I wanted to archive special recordings of family events and our garage band that were saved to cassette. Now I can digitize them and all the bulky, obsolete cassettes can go.

If you have some decent cassette recordings you would like to convert to MP3 or even full WAV format, this unit does a great job. USB direct-connect to computer, Mac or PC software included, & imports directly to iTunes using your import settings. Very nice for $100.

This unit is working great for me. I am backing up cassette tapes I made in the 80's and putting them on a USB drive. It has the USB connection and the audio codec built in so it works automatically with Audacity. I have done about 50 tapes now with no problems and good quality stereo audio outputs as well. There is even a level adjustment on the back in case the recording you made was too light or too heavy. Certainly worth the price.

The tape deck is good, but the recording software only records WAV files, not MP3. There are better options online.

We're using this to convert old recorded tapes to a digital format. So far, it's working great and the quality is very good.

This is a good product, but not a great product. It does the job, but it does require a lot of time and effort. Once you get the hang of it, you can get it done fairly easily but it is time consuming, and I DO wish there was a way to listen to the cassette before you record it!! So silly to record it without any knowledge of what's on there until you get done and then can listen to the sound file. Time consuming.

Great piece of equipment for a person that is serious enough about making room in the dungeon.

Quality is not up to par with my needs, play back speed was not consistant.

I have about 200 old cassettes that I wanted to convert most of to cd's. This product was just what I was serching for. It has lived up to its expectations and also is just a dang nice cassette player. But what I like best is it can convert tapes to cd's a very high rate of speed. Otherwise this project would take me months to complete.

This worked well for my 5 tapes but I gave up after spending too much time and went to www.GeekSquad.com/Rip They ended up converting my remaining CDs, LPs and Tapes to mp3. This device is fine for small jobs but I also wanted the artwork and nice track splitting that Geek Squad does.
