I bought 2 of these cables at the same time and I could not believe how flimsy they are. The first one that broke was admittedly my fault, I was moving my monitors around on their new mounted bases for the first time & there was a little too much pressure on the port. Still, that thing ripped so fast I couldn't believe how little pressure it took. The second one just stopped working after about 6 months. Definitely no reason for that. I was super careful not to put any pressure on that cable, given how the first one had given up so quick, and after about 6 months my computer stopped being able to detect the monitor one day all of a sudden. I thought for sure it couldn't be the cable - this is a top of the line cable, right?? - so I tried literally everything else including a system restore before I tried replacing the cable and the janky old replacement cable did the trick. Do not buy these.

Quality specs for this displays port. Is a bit over price. I was able to find a display port cable that had better specs, for a lower price somewhere else. I did test both (DP Cables) to find that this (DP) from best buy. Did not match-up with the price value as advertised.

The 8K DisplayPort cable transmits both audio and video. DisplayPort v1.4 supports 8K UHD (7680 × 4320) at 60 Hz with 30 bit/px RGB color and HDR, or 4K UHD (4096 × 2160) at 120 Hz. It also supports 3D. The theoretical bandwidth is up to 32.4 Gbps. If you have any questions regarding our video cables, please contact our Technical Support Team and a specialist will be ready to assist you. Thank you.

Cable was fine for the longest time but as of late it would completely pause everything due to signal loss, needing a full system restart to remedy. HDMI works fine, another DP cable that I was using for VR works without these issues, so I see this particular cable as the culprit.

It sounds like the 8K DisplayPort Cable is experiencing intermittent signal loss, which could be caused by several factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
Ensure the cable is securely connected at both ends.
Try unplugging and replugging the cable to see if it resolves the issue temporarily.
Look for any visible signs of wear, bent pins, or loose connectors.
Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date.
Check if your monitor or GPU has any firmware updates available.
If your GPU has multiple DisplayPort outputs, switch to a different port.
Ensure that power-saving settings aren’t interfering with the display output.

The JDC43 supports DisplayPort 1.4, but your device or monitor may only support DisplayPort 1.2 or lower.
If you're using an older GPU or monitor, the cable's full potential won't be utilized, and it might even cause instability.

Was there any power fluctuation when this happened? Sometimes, a power surge can affect connected devices. If the monitor's power source and computer were on different power circuits, ground loops or voltage inconsistencies could also contribute to failure. If the monitor had a weakened or faulty DisplayPort input, connecting a new high-bandwidth 8K cable could have stressed the port, especially if the monitor was not designed to handle certain power draws.
