The large upper horn works to evenly distribute the instrument's weight, ensuring a balanced feel that minimizes neck dive and allows for hours of comfortable play. This thoughtful design is complemented by a graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck with a scarf joint, which not only enhances the instrument's durability but also contributes to its formidable sustain. The neck's speed contour, paired with the 12"-16" compound radius of the laurel fingerboard, offers a lightning-fast playability that's ideal for bassists looking to effortlessly glide across all 24 frets. The Spectra Bass JS3V is engineered to adapt to various musical genres, from the funk's rhythmic pulse to hard rock's aggressive overtones and the soulful nuances of gospel. At the heart of its enormous sound are the dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups, which deliver a low-end growl robust enough to fill any room. The HiMass bridge not only ensures rock-solid stability but also enhances the instrument's sustain and tonal boldness. The sonic versatility of the Spectra Bass JS3V is further amplified by its comprehensive control suite. A two-way toggle switch allows for pickup coil splitting, while the 3-band EQ (active only), blend control, and volume control with a push/pull selector offer extensive tone shaping options. The push/pull selector is a reliable feature that ensures uninterrupted performance, allowing the bassist to bypass the active circuit and continue playing without battery power. This durable and reliable instrument, with its 35" scale length, is adorned with black nickel hardware and a Jackson 3x2 Gumby headstock, which bears the understated yet iconic J logo.
