Sounds great, not much range though. Took to the beach a couple times and ended up not using it too much due to how close you have to be. This is a great speaker for indoor activities in which a home speaker system is unavailabe. Its great and portable, quite expensive, wouldnt necessarily recommend.

Thank you for your feedback with our JBL Charge 5. You may use our JBL Portable App to adjust the EQ settings of the speaker to your preference. Volume can vary depending on surroundings and music content, speakers placed outdoors wouldn't have walls to bounce off the audio waves which can result in lower when it is being compared to a speaker placed in a close room. The sound is good; but I bought two for the connectivity feature; which is unreliable at best. They cut out frequently in the party mode I would recommend these individually; but not as a set for party mode.

Something wrong with the speaker they don’t wanna turn it off. You can turn it off only when the battery is running out.

First, while the unit is not plugged into a power source, power cycle by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds to see if the unit will unlock. Next is reset, while your unit is on, press and hold the Volume + and Play buttons for more than three seconds until the unit shuts off. The speaker itself is really good, first JBL that I own. Amazing sound quality, decent batery and good sound volume, a little bit limited for parties but it can do the job. The only problem that I had was a couple of days ago, playing in the pool we dropped the speaker to the swiming pool and after a couple of seconds it stopped working. We let it rest but it didn't turn on that night. I left it in a dry warm place for over 5 days and nothing, now it turns on but it just turns off again after a couple of seconds, nothing I can really do now. I'm in the process to return it to JBL since I still have the warranty but is not exactly an esay proccess. Probably I just had bad luck with the product but I wouldn't recomend to put it in the water, if that happened to me it could be the same with yours. Other than that 100% recomended.

It is a great sounding speaker with good bass and it gets pretty loud. The only thing is that the battery doesn’t last more than 3 hours on a full charge which is crazy since it should last 20. I don’t know if it is a defective speaker but I want to switch it out for a different one. I use it for working out in my basement and it barley lasts my full workout. I previously had a flip 6 but I returned that one for the charge 5 for more bass and clarity. The flip 6 was great for its size but the bass just doesn’t compare to the bigger one. I think it’s probably defective but I will switch it out hoping that’s the case.

The sound quality is very good!!! Now to my opinion review: I have yet to try using the product as a charge bank, so no opinions or review from my end on that part, yet. Biggest concern is battery life. I've had it for 3 days, and it doesn't get anywhere near the advertised battery life of 20 hours. I understand there are factors, but my settings are just high bass with volume being around 50 or less, and I'll get anywhere 5 -6 hours until I get a warning that I need to charge. Other than that, the sound quality is great for a portable speaker!!! Conclusion: Sound Quality is great! You get a "water resistant" speaker (NOT waterproof)! AND it allows charging to other devices with a USB cord/plug (Not Included), if needed. Basically, It is a great product for sound, but may fall in expectancies of what they way about the battery life.

So i got this a few days ago, and im disappointed. For how much it cost It could be a lot better. It claims it’ll last 20 hours on a full charge but each time I’ve had it, it only last about 4 1/2 hours. Granted I am playing it on full blast at work for my co-workers and I but still? What is the point? A speaker is supposed to be loud, and if the 20 hour claim is for the lowest volume then that is such a rip off for the price. And it won’t charge the battery while it’s playing. It’ll just keep it alive. Sad purchase, returning it tomorrow

i love my charge 3 and decided to upgrade,while the speaker sounded great I was only getting 2 hours of use at 90 percent volume and I didn't didnt think it was worth it. I'll just keep using my charge 3 with a small portable charger and it runs all 8 hrs at full blast for work

Sound is great but it wont shut off always. Becomes a problem if you want to take it somewhere and its dead by the time you want to use it because it will not power down. I have looked it up online and all of the troubleshooting methods did not work. Had it 6 days over the return period so I cannot return.l

I use it every other day and just about every time it has an issue where the audio crackles consistently. You have to turn it off and then on again to remedy the problem, but it returns quickly and it is extremely irritating for an expensive speaker. Bluetooth is reprehensible technology in its current state as it is, but this speaker exasperates that fact even more. It's almost unusable. If it were to function properly on a consistent basis, it would be worthy of some praise, so that is the only reason why it is not 1 star.

We also recommend trying to connect it with a different device or play audio using a different application. You may also try doing a Factory Reset by pressing and holding the "Volume +" and "Play" buttons at the same time for more than 3 seconds unit will power Off by itself. Out of all the JBL speakers that i have bought this one is unsatisfactory the battery life is actually ¼ the battery life they say it should last. I use it at work and i work 8-10 hours and the speaker dies out at 5 hours. I had to purchase a power bank just to try to keep it going till the end of my work day.could you imagine if i tried to charge something.

Just got it, and I already don't like it for the simple fact that it doesn't have a rewind button. I need to be able to rewind my favorite songs or else what's the meaning of life. Also the sound is decent, it's not as loud as I expected but it's alriiight.

If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published specification, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Disappointed. I really thought this would have a clear crisp sound. It does not. It can get loud but the sound is flat. The marketing and reviews mislead me to but this Soeaker. Two stars for looking nice and connecting easily to Bluetooth.
